Okay, thanks for the info. I probably have wrong idea about their abilities. The first one is the worst one, trust me. Hayton is a 3C who only looks good with Keller and will drop off the map every once in a while, Schmaltz is soft as hell and a perimeter player who will heavily disappoint some fans and when he's off he's useless.
do we have to throw in a towel as well to take care of the wet dreams?Throw in Träff and the rights to Gritsyuk and Lamoriello would probably be ready to send over Dobson and Dufour.
I read this as Jared Cowan and almost lost my mindI know this is seperate from what you are saying,
But was wondering if any interest in Nemec for Cowan + 2nd?
Way too much. Frederick is closer to worth a mid round pick than a decent young roster player.Mercer for something based around Frederick
that's terrible for NJ.Mercer for something based around Frederick
Yeah, and the Devils wouldn't do it.Rakell seems like a solid fit in NJ. I don't think he returns both but I'd take either plus a pick.
Thanksthat's terrible for NJ.
It’s too tilted for an add to even it up as I see it. The add would have to be worth more in context than Frederick. Mercer for a rental who isn’t as talented as Mercer just doesn’t make sense for NJ. Frederick maybe returns a second or something close but Mercer has a good contract and is only 23.Thanks
I said based on...
As there would be an add

NJ has a bit of a logjam at RD. Presumably they could sign Kovacevic for what they'd pay Carlo. Not sure that's a fit. A Mercer trade is a hockey trade not a rental trade so it's tricky to find something that works for both teams. I'm sure NJ wants a true center but it has to be a similarly situated player or at least someone with some term at a reasonable cap hit to make any sense for NJ. I think the premise of the thread was if NJ moves both Nemec and Mercer what's the best player that would be returned. To me that's a center but I don't have any real idea who it would be. Any team that has a solid young center on a decent contract isn't going to want to move him.Interest in Carlo ?
Everyone should stop offering average players. If NJ is dangling both Mercer & Nemec they aren't stopping anything short than a top 6 impact winger on a multi year contract. Those are both NJs biggest trade pieces. They aren't giving them away for meh.
Carlo, Frederic and Coyle... You add CaseyDevils need an upgrade at forward. Would be looking for a younger middle 6 player on a manageable contract. Ideally a guy who can play center or play with pace.
Nemec showed some great potential in the first half of his rookie season, but has struggled this year after getting injured this summer. His production in the AHL has been pretty solid after a slow start, but he's just not ready for the NHL pace yet. He still projects as a top 4 dman who could QB a PP down the line.
Mercer is a better player than he's shown in the last 2 years, but his confidence has really fallen since the 2023 playoffs. He's a really smart all around player who can play in all situations and all forward positions. I think he'd be a good fit as a complimentary winger alongside a play driving center. He's signed at 4M through 2026-27, and will still be an RFA at expiry.
Casey is not for saleCarlo, Frederic and Coyle... You add Casey
