Post-Game Talk: Need a win? Make it so!

Will say I'd take the Draisaitl injury over the Ehlers one. The guy couldn't put any weight on his leg after taking a shot off the ankle/foot area (I think, was only half watching). Probably broke something.

The injury if anybody missed it:

He was labouring before that. I don't think that was the actual injury, just when he felt it enough to pull himself.

I also think the big guys are being cautious heading into the playoffs and not willing to risk going into the playoffs with a nagging injury that they try to play through.

To the "Pickard shouldn't have started this one" crowd......that's why you start Pickard.

3 massive game saving stops in the final minutes in 3 consecutive games.
Absolutely critical stops!

And think back to the last 15 or so seconds in the 1st he did the same and I said to myself “self, remember this after the end of the game if we win”.

I would say it's when he stepped on the puck or landed on his ass after taking a hit

It looked so rough. It was his 2nd block of the game, didn't the same thing happen to ehlers a couple of years ago?

Can't even think about the result of this game, it's all about Draisaitl.
I have a bad feeling about the injury, for Drai to take himself out of the game immediately like that it must be pretty bad. I have a feeling that this could take him out of the playoffs or at the very least that he won't be 100% the rest of the season.

Idk. Ehlers is soft as baby shit and Drais injury could be anything.

Speaking of injuries apparently our boy Holloway also got injured tonight.. we play them in less than a week.

Didn't look like anything more than a minor strain, maybe a hip flexor or groin or abdominal/oblique from when he stepped on the puck and his back leg shot out on him. 3 weeks until playoffs should be enough time even if he sits out rest of the season.

I think we're going a bit overboard in this thread. They know they want to be healthy going into the playoffs and are going to be conservative if they feel something right now. Assuming he injured it on the play he stepped on the puck, he was still able to play for a while before he really felt it enough to pull himself.

A guy needing to be helped off the ice with zero weight on his leg after blocking a shot definitely looks a lot worse.

Jumping off the band wagon and right into all those conclusions.

He could have felt a slight tweak from the injury he just returned from and decided to play it safe. I think the team is being cautious with injuries and trying to ensure the top guys come in as healthy as possible. Obviously something happened. Hopefully it’s minor.

I’d say it’s more likely he plays in LA than he misses the playoffs.

He didn't take himself out immediately. He was talking to the trainer on the bench after the PP goal and probably earlier than that. Much like his initial injury he was trying to play through it again but decided not to finish the game this time.
