Celeberini is the best talent in this year draft. Who is comparing him to Macklin? Why is it so hard to give praise for a player? He does not have to be 1st overall level of talent to be decent. Leonard will be a very good 1st line player.

Let me put it to you this way.

If both Leonard and Reinbacher develop as their scouting reports say they should, nobody would trade Reinbacher for Leonard 1-1.

Would you trade Alex Pieterangelo at his peak for Alex Tuch or Martin Necas?

Leonard is a good player, but he is not Matthew Tkachuck or Rantanen. I see him as a 30-40 winger, a great player, but nobody in their right mind would do that trade. A 25 min -30 "boring" 40-50 pt first pairing defenseman, like Pieterangelo or Shergachev or Mcdonaugh etc.. specially right hand shots are worth a lot more and rarer to find.

Leonard is great, loved him last year. But, Reinbacher is a rare breed that's very hard to find, much like Slaf.

Also, there's no such thing as having three BPAs, nor predicting where you'll draft the next year and which players will be available. If Dach plays this year, there's a good chance you're not even in a position to draft one of the top D's, much less Dickinson. If as a scouting team they feel Reinbacher is the player, they can't start predicting who will be there the next year. You don't often get the chance to draft a top pair all situations RHD. Some drafts have none.

Let me put this way. Nobody is telling anything bad against Reinbacher. I certainly never did but it is a very sensitive subject among Habs fans.

Going by your same logic if Michkov develop as their scouting report said then we should have selected because Prime Kucherov > Pietrangelo.

The reality is that I never mentioned nothing bad, after we made the selection my first impression was exactly what you said. I better hope Reinbacher is the next Pietrangelo otherwise that one will stink.

As for Ryan Leonard himself I think he is exactly in the Tkachuk/Marchand hybrid type that will be a key piece for Stanley Cup runs. That is my view on him, you might disagree with it, I don't care he is always delivering hard and compete. I am 100% hopeful that Reinbacher is him, obviously. For me Leonard is the type of player that you love on your team and hate when you play against.

Freshman goalie. He tied Al Montoya.
You and I both know there's only one Montoya worth talking about

Leonard struggled in the 1st half of the season but he was much better in the 2nd half. He's so small though, that entire line is going to be so interesting to see how they each do away from each other in the NHL as they are are small as shit but so fun to watch play together.

Reinbacher could be anything but I wouldn't trade him for Leonard and I don't really like Reinbacher much and I did like Leonard at the draft and thought if Will Smith didn't drop to us that he would be the pick.

At this point I can't say i've been overly impressed with many of this 2023 draft class at least the 1st rounders but what's done is done so we just have to hope Reinbacher was the right pick. We'll see how he looks at camp and go from there.

You state this as though it was a fact, when it is merely your opinion.

I am certain Habs scouts disagree that they didn't pick the best player available.
Nah, sorry. Nobody will ever convince me that this paragraph means BPA. Nobody. Bolded part is exactly the definition of needs.

Reinbacher was high on the Canadiens list for a long time, although that may have something to do with his strong side. "If he was a left-shot defenseman, we might have cooled on him, but we don't have as much depth on the right side," said Hughes. "David is a diamond in the rough with a lot of potential."

A nice 3rd period comeback by Michigan last night to knock off North Dakota. UM couldn't generate much offense in the first two periods, but really poured it on in the final frame with three goals.

Next game is a Big Ten title game rematch against Michigan State on Sunday evening. Go Blue!
