What has Tuch done exactly to deserve a contract?

Just to add to what Adam and WTK said,

Look at the prospect chart for forwards, find me one player who shares the same tools and play style as Tuch.

Big, fast, goes to the net, finish his checks and has average hands.

There’s like 22 forwards in the system, less if you take none-existent ones like Gorniak/Smith, the player with closest style is probably Heineman. That’s too little, you need players with a bit of sandpaper and grit. Not everyone can be the skilled player, you need different styles and tools to win.

He had two disappointing seasons in a row (riddled with injuries and probably lost confidence) and even if they decide to send him back, I do believe that will offer him a contract that it’s this off-season or the next one.

I’d bring him in to Laval next season, give the coaching staff time to work with him on his strengths especially with other prospects coming in at the same time.

Dobes is the one I am perplexed about. 2 straight seasons of putting up excellent numbers yet no one seems to be excited about him. Am I missing something?

And he turns 22 in May...he is in the same boat as Farrell I think where he played an extra year in the USHL

He was impressive last year that’s for sure, less this past season.

I think the reason he might go back is the goaltender situation in Montreal.

Primeau has to pass through waivers, and they didn’t get to test him this season at the NHL level. Montembeault is showing some improvement (although i’m not convinced yet() and Allen just got extend for two more seasons.

Give an extra year to Dobes, you get more time to make a decision on the assets you already have at hand.

Speculation today is that Hughes will sign Perets as a FA. I'm not sure at 6'1" he is a better propsectthan Dobes but it can't hurt to sign him and let Dobes play his Junior year in the NCAA.

I wouldn't really sign Perets more than an AHL deal. Quinnipiac was a defensive masterclass, Perets just had to make routine saves.. a lot like Alex Lyons from Yale, never really became anything noteworthy either. But if it allows Dobes and Dichow not to get rushed in, I'll take it.

We can sign Perets to a 2 year deal startng this year. He will only be on our 50 contract list for one more year if he does not work out. Same reasoning as Condotta last year.

And it's not even an extra contract if it means putting Dobes off one year.

Its worth giving him a shot IMO. DDO native, kidswith sensational stats. And he won't be rushed, he can work on his side to side movement and his rebound control in laval, supposedly his two weak areas. This is a no lose situation except the extra contract IMO.

I think Primeau killed the NCAA dominant hype.

I suppose, didn't look at it that way.

💯 %. The sooner people realize Primeau is not and will not become an NHL calibre goalie...the better. I watch alot of Laval games and I have zero confidence when he is in net.

Agreed, I was hoping they would trade him last summer after his great playoff run.

Habs let Lindgren go, and you can see how well now he is doing in Washington. Give the kid some more time.

Hard no on Perets, waste of a contract imo for a slightly undersized goalie who played on a stacked team in a weak division.

Where did you see that? I know there have been articles that suggest Habs should sign him. But that's more a writer sharing an opinion. I haven't seen anywhere that Habs are among teams interested in him.

There is just a 7 month age gap between Perets and Primeau. I suspect Primeau would have put up even better numbers at Quinnipiac this season if he was there.

Primeau has been the best goalie in Laval by a wide margin but MSL's system that is being used there is not ideal for players with lesser puck skills and it is inevitably going to be tough on the goaltenders who face way too many prime scoring chances.

I do but when I try to sign in it just brings me to the portal to pay for it

When you go in, do you sign in with your cable provider? Because when I go to log in, it asks if I am logging in through the cable provider or TSN Direct. I click on with cable provider, select my provider (Bell), and then I log in with my Bell account. And I'm in.

Yes it worked this time. Of course the picture freezes every 5 seconds. I have the same trouble with CHL TV for some games.

Some folks can take the game in on ESPN U which is considered TV and has different broadcast rules than ESPN+
