I hope NBA stayed on with ESPN because they were the highest bidder and not because they felt like they have to be on ESPN.

TNT cannot match the deal because they cannot guarantee the number of ad impressions as Warner does not own a broadcast network. If they want to keep the NBA, they’re gonna have to go to Disney (ABC) or Fox for a joint bid.
Something to watch for the next time the NHL goes through this, which is in 4 years.

The way I read it, maybe it’s wrong, that’s kinda what’s happening. The show will still be produced by Turner, distributed by ESPN.
As part of the agreement, ESPN is sub-licensing some Big 12 media rights.
