The Luka deal is a very *VERY* rich mans version of the Wizards sending Chris Webber to the Kings for an old Mitch Richmond +.

It’s the same type of thing, just more magnified.

That Dallas GM could very easily lose his job, if this goes poorly over the next few months. I’m SURE he was told to sell Luka, from on high. But he still could’ve gotten a LOT more than what they got.

Something smells here. Like bad.

Zards won a game. Still in the lead for the worst record by 4.5 games. Still hate the tankathon lotto. For some reason I swear the worst team gets worst results than the second worst team.

It’s quite possible there’s more to the story. Cuban still runs the team even though he sold his majority stake right?

Ponderous move. He’s basically playing 65-70 games a season. Must be something else here not spoken of.
Cuban was quoted on a podcast a few years back saying he’d divorce his wife before he’d let Luka go. He knows how hard it is to luck into a superstar player since the NBA draft is such a crapshoot.

If there isn’t more to the story, the GM should be fired immediately. AD is a solid player but you’d expect a lot bigger package than a 1st rounder in 2029. Paul George was older than Luka and returned:

  • G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
  • F Danilo Gallinari
  • Miami Heat’s 2021 unprotected first-rounder
  • Clippers’ 2022 unprotected first-rounder
  • Right to 2023 first-round swap with Clippers
  • Clippers’ 2024 unprotected first-rounder
  • Heat’s 2025 protected first-rounder for 1-14
  • Right to 2025 first-round swap with Clippers
  • Clippers’ 2026 unprotected first-rounder

Pretty funny following NBA trade deadline hot stove and seeing the Suns try to get rid of Beal and no one wants his contract.

This is what we got:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Washington Wizards have acquired guards Chris Paul and Landry Shamet, four first round pick swaps (2024, 2026, 2028 and 2030) and six second round picks (2024, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028 and 2030) from the Phoenix Suns as part of the agreement to trade guard Bradley Beal to Phoenix.

Now compare that to Luka LOL

We might not even get one 1st rounder swap out of that trade….and 2nd are throwins in the NBA, but at least we got rid of that overpaid bum.
