It's more logical to suggest that one of the best players in the game probably knew what he was doing, particularly based on the results, rather than some contrarian "you can't prove the opposite isn't true" flying spaghetti monster hypothetical.

The media doesn't care about Rory or his goals. They only want bloody gore for their headlines. Rory and all the other athletes know this. So shunning the media after a shitshow finish is just denying them their red meat, while allowing the player to focus on improvement rather than dwelling on the negative.

We could write books on why this makes more sense than "who knows if he would've played better if he'd talked to the media".

Yea who cares. No need to nanny a pro.

Winning the Masters is 1000x better look and nobody will remember Thurs press conference. Hell the only people even talking about it a day later are the LIV people who dislike him.

It was all over sports talk so let’s not pretend only his haters brought it up for discussion lol..that’s pure fantasy and you know it.

Is that supposed to be an insult because again, nobody really cares. Unless you do.

I wouldn't care if ANY golfer did this exact same thing because I understand competitive golf and the mindset.

Again, this is nothing. Nobody will remember it unless people with an interest in keeping it alive bring it up. Social media reactions are not news they're noise.

For not caring you seem pretty spun up, so let’s just table your defense of Rory for a few days and see how he performs. Pretty sure we’ll continue to see this pattern of behavior from him if the play on course is a flop, but let’s see.

I hope it’s him and BD coming down the back 9 with the lead on Sunday, and then he goes full Norman in 96. 😉
 
I’m pretty benign on Rory, and I don’t much care. I’ve always thought he was kinda a baby, and this falls into that vein of thought.

That said, he can do whatever he wants to do. I’m sure he’s not the first guy to do it, and won’t be the last.

Clearing his head after a poor round is certainly his perspective, and it seemed to have “righted” him. But Rory has always been about Rory — so this isn’t anything to me.

But that’s just me

When Morikawa as the leader collapsed on the back 9 Sunday earlier this year, at the Arnold Palmer I believe, he didn’t talk to the media after the round. When asked about it later he said he didn’t owe them anything. He literally told the media to f*** off. Nobody cared.

Anyone acting like Rory not talking to the media after his first round and instead going to the range to work on his game is any kind of thing is just looking for something to pick at him about or be offended by. And citing social media reactions to anything as your example is the laziest form of ‘journalism.’

Definitely very Rory….and it’s definitely not much of a thing.

I usually only watch the Masters Sunday and I'll be at the Caps game tomorrow so will be watching at the bar in arena
