World Cup: National Team threads #2

The club-WM is really going to be hamper on the U21s; as Salzburg's Morgalla & Blank will join the Dortmund & Munchen cohorts...Beier, Adeyemi, Bischof, Wanner, Urbig...in missing the tourney.

Still should be a fun team with Woltemade and Gruda leading the way up front, a strong double pivot, and a lot of depth in defense.

Entirely different than saying Messi isn't what he is.
I do believe Messi should have won the 14 one and lost the 22 one.
Doesn't mean I don't rate him as best ever, as I've done for years.

Messi is one of the best to have ever played football ofc, after CR7 and Pelé so i really respect him and he seems humble and all that but he the football world kinda lost the respect they had for him after he/Argentina stole the WC trophy from Portugal
Ronaldo Nazario, Cruyff, Maradona and others are ahead of him too.

I would have to think I was crazy with my ranking of R9 if not for the fact that most media outlets and publications similarly don’t often rank him anywhere near as high as HFBOARDS soccer does.

R9's whole case is an otherworldly peak, because he had zero longevity at all. In comparison to some other people in the convo about the greats, R9's peak makes up for the lack of comparable longevity.

But Messi's peak was even higher than R9's was. So R9 doesn't even have that here.

But this is, of course, a tangent from the actual thread.
