2016 #NHLDraft pick Nathan Noel has been signed to a three-year deal that begins next season and runs through 2019-20.

Good for him. Still remember seeing the emotional pic of him when he found out he was drafted. Makes it easy to cheer for him.

If he pans out (as well as bulks up), he could be a right shot version of Danault. Or at least the Danault that we expected to eventually have before he was given away for nothing. Expecting Noel to be put in a 1C position and play with guys like Paciorrety is probably not realistic, however.

I remember being in Florida in 2015. Noel was ranked 54th by Central Scouting and that was a drop from his highly touted years leading up to the draft. It was an incredibly deep and talented draft and plenty of good players went undrafted. Noel was arguably the biggest surprise and visibly shaken by the snub. I believe he was there with a bit of an entourage. Felt very badly for him that weekend so it's really great to see that he has worked his way back into an NHL opportunity. Genuinely hope he does really well for you guys.
