I'm a huge MacKinnon fan, but to say he is better than McDavid is beyond a stretch.

Bouchard to his credit: 1-1-2, +2, GWG, 5 shots, led both teams in XGF%, and was the game’s first star.

It's embarassing for the NHL to have fans who say things like MacGinnon is better than McDavid or Makar is better than Hughes.

The hockey media feeds so many biased takes.

hate to be one for cliche's but thats what happens when you dont "play a full 60 mins getting pucks in deep" yaddi yaddi yadda. Most teams captains cant rally their teams back from 3-0. McDavid might not be able to rally the troops back from 3-0 down everytime but even if they lose they seem to find away to make it at least 3-2 with a last second empty net goal to seal a loss.

If anything they both play well against each other head to head. Yet another category he is worse than McDavid in though. I will say at least he is competitive unlike someone else you live to defend. He has tortured your idol since day one to a tune that is unheard of. Must suck. Saw the leafs game tonight that was a heck of a game. Thought it was relevant considering that’s actually your team.

MacKinnon has much worse defensive stats in other categories as well. McDavid isn't a Selke candidate, but he is much more responsible with the puck than MacKinnon.

MacKinnon is like Ovechkin at his peak, he plays like a pinball machine more than with timing and precision which usually leads to more turnovers.

Yea, I didn't have the numbers in front of me when I posted, but apparently, my eye test for those players was accurate.

Wouldn’t say they are insecure but I also agree that you the actual Avs fans aren’t the problem with this thread/topic. I haven’t heard or seen any of you tear down the oilers/McDavid or even proclaim MacKinnon as the superior player. None of you Avs fans from what I’ve seen have done anything of the sort. The thread was created by a notorious McDavid hater and the reason it has lasted this long is due to pens fans and other fans of oilers rivals rallying to troll and attack the oilers fans. If the oilers fans now come off as insecure that’s somewhat reasonable from your perspective but it is only because they have had to play defense from so many angles. The real problem isn’t oilers vs Avs fans it is pens, flames and leafs fans fanning the flames causing trouble.

I understand what you're trying to say, but MacKinnon plays with more timing and precision than 95% of the league. So does Ovechkin for that matter. You're saying nothing.

Originally meant to put that in my post but figured that was obvious. Like what I mean is McDavid plays in a more controlled fashion and probably doesn’t need to force things as much leading to less turnovers.
