I prefer him as a player over Pionk. Atleast the org knows and plays him like a bottom pairing d-man. With Pionk the are convinced he is a top-4 d-man much to the Jets detriment.

I don't think anyone is going to touch that cap hit. They'll just wait and see if they can sign him on the cheap in FA.

Chevy is willing to be bold. On paper this is good, but I get the feeling he made a big impact in the locker room and that may be missed. I guess we couldn’t find a trading partner for that last year, saving those assets for the deadline it seems. Schmidt is a cool dude so I can’t really say anything negative. Thank you for everything you did, Nate!
