Friedman: Nashville's not too interested in taking steps backwards

Hoping for some nice internal growth from Stamkos (35), Josi (35 with a complex ailment), Marchessault (34), O’Reilly (34), Haula (34), Sissons (31), Skjei (31), Saros (30), Forsberg (30), McCarron (30), Bunting (29), Smith (29), Englund (29), and Lauzon (28), eh?

Bold strategy.

Now now soon you’ll hear how they have one of the best prospect pools in the league!!

While having zero elite prospects

Trotz is trying to make the playoffs. With zero indication they're trading Josi, Forsberg, or Saros, they're going down this road for at least another couple years.

Dreger: Look, Nashville is open for business. Im not sure if that business is pushing forward, getting better, or taking a step back for a year. Everything remains fluid and a single call, email, text, whatever could blow this thing wide open with Nashville making a bunch of trades, or they might just sniff around, get some ideas for the prices of certain players and take a few weeks to relax then come back and see what deals can be made.
