Schenn. Please buy Schenn’s jersey!!!Y'all get together and decide who you want to run off next, pool your money, and send it to me for the next Hockey Fights Cancer auction. My last two purchases were Carrier and Tolvanen. Novak better watch his ass.
Sadly, Bruno won't have a jersey there...
it's dealing with this team.
WOOOOOOOAH WE'RE HALFWAY THEREReposting from the game thread: it's very clear we have better, cheaper, younger options than Lauzon and Carrier. Would trade them for whatever we can get

Poile has always been consistent from day one, he generally drafted and signed the kind of players his coaches wanted in their system and structure.I'm probably putting too much weight on it, but that last season under Poile still rubs me the wrong way. It was the perfect opportunity to go in day one and integrate some of our own. There was a stockpile of kids and some of them had done adequately the season before.
But Hynes told Poile he couldn't win that way. He needed veteran players. So Poile went out grocery shopping and brought in a bunch of tweeners and stocked the roster with those guys. The kids all got sent back to Milwaukee. And when the results started coming back, that effort was a waste. We ended up gutting the roster at the TDL and forcing Hynes to play the kids, and lo and behold, the kids almost righted the ship.
So, yeah, I'm actually not sure Poile had that much of a plan. He drafted BPA, tried to bring kids up through Milwaukee the old fashioned way, and trusted his coach to tell him what ingredients were best.
When I look at Dallas, I don't see that. Whether it is just that they develop guys better or their scouts are 1000 times smarter than ours or both, they still figure out ways of having kids entering into the lineup and veterans retire or run out a contract. And, it just flat out works. They're not on the Buffalo "must tank for 20 years" way of doing things. They just plug and chug and keep winning.
