I truly hope they'd start selling off some of the veterans pretty soon to create room for the younger players. Nyquist seems like the most obvious one, being a UFA and all.

It took him a season but he basically turned into what we were afraid he would, just a body plugging the roster a younger guy could be playing in.

The good news is that people are still paying me for my tickets I can’t use. The bad news is I’m now selling at a 40% discount. It will be interesting to see what I’m able to get in a couple of months.
My wife has cancelled our plans to see a game or two this season in Nashville.

In January, we went to Vegas to see Stone score a hatter on MLK Jr Day. That may have been the WORST game that the Preds played all season.

Getting rid of Fabbro was idiotic.
Not signing Lanky was a mistake.

Nashville needs to lose some fans to get upper management's attention!
(When I was kid, I was a Bruins fan during 1970 and 1972. I did watch some of the 2011 SCF that Boston won.)

Trotz needs to straighten out. Bruno needs to go; the sooner is better!

Everything people say about the Fabbro, Tomasino, Askarov and even Glass moves have been correct.

What people fail to realize about Lanky was, he wanted the opportunity to start and if we wanted him back, it would be in a backup role. My guess is he didn't want to sign here because he would've been stuck behind Saros. All that to say, it's not a mistake if the player had other ideas.

Where they failed in net was not moving Saros, re-signing Lanky and giving him the crease as a starter and then easing Askarov along as the backup and then moving into a starter's role. Unfortunately, we went from a position of strength to whatever we have now. Justus seems to be doing fine and I'm curious how he pans out long term.

Trotz gambled and has set the franchise back, even if we get a top 3 pick overall because they'll find a way to screw that up too by picking the top rated defenseman and not the best centers on the board.

Lankinen is a guy who had a split starter role in Chicago. Did fine year 1 and meh year 2. Came to Nashville for a backup role and did well on a semi competent team but could only ever get 20 or so games here because we like to work our starters to death no matter how competent they are. Staying here with no stipulation he gets 30+ starts was always going to limit his ability to be more than a backup moving farward and his long term earnings. He bet on himself and though he is making less right now i think he should be able to make a fair amount more next year.

With some of our recent discussions here, I've been wondering what we would do with a sell off at the TDL. We have 10 picks in the 2025 draft, but it is a class that is generally considered to be below average. So we could sell off for even more picks at the TDL, but prospects may be better. Also the 2026 class is generally considered to be well above average, so divesting out of 2025 and building up more picks in 2026 seems like a good plan. Neither the 2025 nor 2026 class is going to come in immediately and save us next year. But having more shots in a much better class could really help in 3 or 4 seasons. Besides if we're sticking with Bruno for a while, our picks should be quite high for a while.

PS: If we're going with tank commander Bruno, it would be super nice if he blows the tracks enough that we can nab Landon Dupont in 2027. Josi who?

Juuse Saros: 6-14 .908 sv 2.73 gaa. Kevin Lankinen: 14-4 .912 sv 2.52 gaa. And Lankinen would have cost millions less, no NMC, and would not have been for 8 damn years. And we would have the best goalie prospect in the league backing him up. Trotz man sheesh.

I can't really blame Saros for any of those stats. Honestly, those are remarkably considering he's having to keep the other team to basically 1 goal every night for the Preds to have a chance to win. If we had a lesser goalie, things would be a lot worse. Lankinen is also playing with a much better team in front of him in a system that protects their goalies as Tocchet plays a tight defensive system.

I just noticed that Buffalo is trying to yet again go full Buffalo*. 10 game losing streak. No matter what happens here I hope we don't become mired in whatever abyss they have been stuck in for several years.

*Never go full Buffalo.
It's been one of those quick 14 year long (and running) tank and rebuild around that surefire awesome pick paths to epic glory.

So two mid tier teams and two upper teams.

Rangers have been in a funk and are looking to get our of it.
Tomasino and Glass return. Can they get vengeance
La and Carolina have both been solid this season.

Not facing anyone in the basement with us. Should be a challenge. I think we get a win out of this and lose the rest
