Well from my perspective it looks like GMBT words mean nothing, his actions means he will burn it all down his way and only his way. Three DP former 1st round picks gone for what? More will be moved or just not played. He acts like he almost has some sort of grudge that DP is still around and so he is doing this to shove it in his face for firing him and not giving him better teams when he was a coach.

I don't see this being the case. I guess if one was an outsider looking in, it might occur to somebody who doesn't know Trotz or Poile. But I do trust that they have the very close and friendly and respectful relationship that we saw on display during the transition. I don't think there's any spite involved in Trotz's actions.

I think it's pretty much as simple as Trotz just not being a very good evaluator of modern NHL player talent. He genuinely believes (or believed his coach) that Fabbro and Tomasino weren't good enough to play for the team. He genuinely believes the AHL tweeners are better players. He genuinely believed the older/slower UFAs would make the team significantly stronger. He genuinely believes in Brunette as a coach. All that ails us... there's no spite or pettiness or anything like that involved. He's just... well, he's maybe not a very good GM. :dunno:

Callups from Milwaukee for the blue line.

Plus - Evangelista is back in
Plus - Del Gaizo did have a rough game so i can see why he sits
Plus - Wilsby gets a shot
Plus - novak starting between stamkos and Marchessault

Minus - none of this matters because this is just an on paper thing and we all know the lines and pairings will change about 5 minutes into the game.

If guys like McCarron and Lauzon can miss any amount of time, that'll definitely help. :thumbu:

Isn't Carrier due to miss some time? Soon? Please? :naughty:

Just move Novak to wing, sit Jankowski, and play Parssinen. It's not that hard to see.

I guess we get to see if there really isn't a drop off between Fabbro and the farm. Amazing how quickly this has all come about.
I doubt we'll really see any "effective" dropoff between Fabbro and the farm guys, given how Fabbro was deployed anyway. Del Gaizo weighs about the same as Fabbro, so he'll compress the cushions in the pressbox seats about equally well. :dunno:

I wasn't considering that angle. Definitely the "make chicken soup out of chicken shit" way of looking at things. 😬

I'm totally fine with Jankowski as the 13th forward that you plug into the lineup for short term injuries or to give a guy a break on a back to backs. If he's playing more 35ish game per season in your lineup, you're just not legitimately trying to win. I don't understand it

I feel like lost in the last few weeks is Del Gaizo has been generally unimpressive and downright awful in some defensive situations, but it has been greatly overshadowed by how bad the rest of the team, coaching staff, and front office has been. He, like Schenn and Lauzon, should be a 6/7 and not an every game starter.

So based on Mason's comments I guess the plan now is to basically move off guys that can be traded and hope whoever new gets in the lineup can get the rest of the team going.

Also he basically admitted they are throwing crap at the wall and hoping something sticks. Hate to tell him it's not going to get better as long as guys like Stamkos are pulling that much 5v5 time.

Parssinen is in the same category as Fabbro to me. A guy I legitimately think would help us at a position of real need for us. I think Parssinen should be a fixture, just like Fabbro should have been.

Whereas I can sort of see the arguments against Tomasino... he has legit NHL skill, and I don't like the way he had been developed or the way we completed tanked his asset value. However, I'm also not sure he would ever have been a "keeper" based on anything we saw. I'm not sure he had a spot for long here, even if we had given him more of a chance. He did deserve more of a chance given how thin our lineup has been. However, I don't think it would have taken very much longer for us to want to replace him with other youngsters coming up. :dunno:

But Parssinen and Fabbro we actually needed.

Pärssinen will be one we'll regret for a long time. He's going to be a fantastic bottom-six center for whoever ends up getting him. Sadly, it looks like it won't be us.
