With Smith on IR, i dont think we have to make a move for Hinostroza. He will put us up to 13 forwards, 7 D, and 2 G.

I think it was already painfully obvious the org is done with Pärssinen when we went with 7D, 11F and he is healthy scratched. I wish we would just go ahead and waive or trade him for Future Considerations at this point.

.500 hockey at the midpoint of the season is now an impossibility.

Assuming Pärssinen is on waivers or traded soon, Novak becomes the next 2024 extension to watch since it looks like Trotz is cleaning house of his own extensions.
I homestly dont think novak survives the season. Almost 1.5 seasons of getting 10-13 mins a game. Its clear they dont see him as a viable 2C option

If we do in fact move on from Pärssinen that makes five of twenty two players on the opening night roster signed between March and September 2024 out of the organization. Novak would make six.

Trotz's roster build is a questionable.

My conspiracy theory is he wanted an "expansion" level team of his own to start his GM career.
He's going to take us there.

This just seems like a "grass is always greener" roster purge. I guess since we've never drafted a Nathan MacKinnon ourselves, you just assume every player we've drafted is garbage and needs to be jettisoned. Throw away guys who've played and played well at times for AHL talent and guys who have even less experience.

Crazy time.

I usually like to think I could see a pattern of behavior with general managers.

Barry wants to get the team bigger to deal with Vancouver. He sees Molendyk and Gibson as the new version of Suter/Weber.

Other than that, no f***ing idea

(Watch this team goes on a 10 game win streak and we wonder how?!?!?)

Tune into a Sharks game, and you'll see a clear direction. Even if it’s one that's a few years off. They’re laying the foundation for something. Compare that with where we are. Signing Saros over Askarov was the moment when the pitchforks should have come out. You don't get to squander your future just to maintain the status quo. This market is too complacent, too soft, to demand real change. And that’s exactly why the Predators continue to flounder, while other teams at least have the decency to try to build something worth watching.

Saros is still young enough to be playing at a high level while we turn it around. I know the reasons for disliking it but after our signings and "winning" the offseason it's hard to go out and trade Saros.

Not to disagree too much, I was a very vocal supporter of Askarov being the next one for us and out of all the moves I think I dislike that one the most, maybe after Fabbro.
