What This Means for You:
Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.
In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord ServerBrunette is Trotz’s guy. Trotz is annoyed with the armchair GM’s based off his comments on a recent 102.5 interview. Annoying armchair GM’s think Brunette should be fired for a better coach, screw those annoying Armchair GM’s.
My expectation is for us to have another top 5 pick next year

What does Trotz have against arms? He doesn’t have a neck so he begrudges others with all their appendages?Brunette is Trotz’s guy. What is the clear goal?I'm glad it sounds like this team is being managed rationally and with a clear goal in mind!
Trotz is a dope.
What is the clear goal?
My expectation might be finding another team to root for. I haven’t felt this much apathy towards a team. If Trotz truly feels that Bruno is the guy, I really don’t know what to say or think other than, if I’m going to invest 82 games worth of time, it’ll be for a team that is managed better than this.My expectation is for us to have another top 5 pick next year
If he’s a character guy, a true fourth line guy, he would finish his checks. This is what I mean by soft. He’s 6’6” and avoids contact in most interactions. His job is to the set the tone and he doesn’t do it.He's not exactly soft. He has 100pim. To lead our team. Not like he's very effective with either his physicality or fighting. But he's willing. He knows what it will take for him to stick in the NHL, and he punches the clock on that requirement.
But end of the day, he still has 11 pts and is -18. He's just not an NHL level player, on skills/on-ice contribution alone.
So okay, if his "intangibles" raise the bar and you want to keep him around despite his lack of NHL talent... you can do that. Just... he should be the ONLY player on the entire roster you give that pass to. Carry 1 of these guys. Cut loose Smith, Lauzon, whoever else is not really an NHL player.
Just bad puck luck is allMeanwhile I'm just sitting here thinking "yep, called it".From their perspective, it's this year that's the outlier, not last year. And like everyone else here I do not have high hopes for next year. Hoping that that's what'll show Trotz that he picked the wrong year as his outlier, but we'll see.
Just bad puck luck is all
We still have the same holes we needed to fill at the beginning of this season--2C (really a 1C and move ROR down, but that's wishful) and a top 4D. Except now we also need tonadd probably another top 4D and probably one more scorer (could be Molendyk and a prospect, but that also seems hopeful). If we do nothing to fill those, I think we do still end up pretty poor absent massive changes in coaching/system/deployments.My initial thought is we won't be as bad next season, maybe still not good but not as bad. Then I look around and don't really see anyone that isn't already bad suddenly getting worse. No new teams that are going to be tearing it completely down, but then you are going to start seeing teams like San Jose get better so short of everyone coming out and having career years it will just be more of the same.
Well until Brunette learns you gotta mold your system to the players you have rather than forcing the system on players who can't play it, I'm not sure it matters what holes we fill.We still have the same holes we needed to fill at the beginning of this season--2C (really a 1C and move ROR down, but that's wishful) and a top 4D. We've never really done that, at least not as cut throat as Vegas anyways. Loyalty to the organization was a pretty big thing Poile would reward, of course he would move you out pretty quick too if he wasn't getting that from players as well.Marchessault today on his exit from Vegas, "And that's something that I really loved about Vegas - they're a hard team, a hard organization - they do everything what's best for their success," he said. "And despite anything, they always think of their success. And if one day I'm going to be a GM, I'm going to run things like that, too. I'm going to make the things that I need to do to become the best team on the ice. And I think that's one of their best qualities that they have."
That doesn’t seem to be how Preds do it…
