Nashville Predators Talk - 2024/2025 Season II

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Drouin is the funny one because the board would just assume it was another prospect the org ruined rather than him being a bust.
Yeah we dodged that bullet too. Frankly I bet Drouin looks back at his early career and wants to beat his head against the wall now. That's a guy that probably has a completely different career knowing what he knows now.

Question for guys who have been fans for awhile. What was Suter's reputation when here? Not how it ended, specifically, but how was he while here as a person and teammate? I know Minnesota felt he was negative influence in the room, but he seems to be well liked so far in St. Louis. What about as a Pred?

I really don't remember much negativity but he was younger and playing in the shadows of Timmonen, Hamhuis and then Weber.

He was viewed as a very good leader, from my teenage recollection. My impression of the Minnesota thing is that he was used to being "the guy" (or one of "the guys") in our locker room and never really learned how to go into an existing situation and not just assume he was still in charge. Will be curious if folks with fully developed frontal lobes remember it differently

I'm actually lost for words on how this team can be this bad at every aspect of the game. Every single player has regressed in every phase of their game. I mean I know the simple answer is coaching but damn.
Our players being old, bad, and unlikable is a hell of a combination. Not even getting into our front office/gameday ops there...

He was liked. He was Weber's partner and was going to be another top D player in the league for years for the Preds. The Preds were going to be stacked with a really good D. He said all the right things about wanting to stay and would give Nashville first shot. He lied. Hated ever since.

He was well liked. Everyone wanted him to stay with us.

Absolutely no reason for Josi to play this year. None! No way!
Why?
I’m in the LTIR group. He has been a great player for the Preds. He is all an O-minded Dman should be.
But it’s time and he seems to have a good awareness of the fact that there is a life after hockey as a young husband and father. A lifetime!
The continued risk just isn’t worth it. He has nothing to prove.

Until he lied to our faces....
Yes, indeed. He said a lot and went against everything he had said in the media. Specifically at the all star weekend that year.

Said something along the lines of “seeing what moves we make”… Poile went out and got Kostitsyn, Gaustad, and Gill. Then brought back Radulov. He was never going to sign with us and that’s why he is disliked by the fanbase, for sure.

He was the Pippen to Weber’s Jordan. Quiet, solid d support. Also, f*** that lying bastard.

As I remember it was all good until he started lying. As I recall though I think I was in the minority that last year that was saying to trade him if he wouldn't sign simply because I didn't think the team was good enough anyways. I wasn't over here yet though, think I was strictly still on the Preds boards but that's been so long ago I can't really remember

Does anyone have experience getting out of their 3-year extension agreement for season tickets. I re-upped in 2022, thinking it was 3 years, beginning with the 22-23 season, which would have ended this year. In fact, I extended with 2 years remaining on my previous extension, which means it doesn't end un the end of the 26-27 season.

I've been wrestling with lowering the number of tickets or going to a half-season on the all my seats but before I go down that path, I wanted to know what others have experienced in changing/cancelling remaining years on the 3-year agreement.

Will be super-interesting to see what Trotz does during the summer if Josi cannot come back. You'd think there's no chance we have a shot at competing next year in that scenario, right? I mean unless Molendyk just completely blows up in his rookie-season and can replace Josi at least to some degree, there's zero chance.

This is the thing with people criticizing Josi, I don't think we even fully understand how great Josi's been all these years. Will be a sad day in Nashville if he's forced to hang them up. To think we're about go from the Suter-Weber-Subban-Josi Era into ... yeah, I don't even know what.

I wouldn't be in such a hurry to give up on Josi. Let the doctors figure that one out. He has come back from lots of concussions so far, it's impossible for us to really guess where the cutoff point is going to be.

But he's still a heckuva player, and as long as he's deemed healthy and wants to play, I'd really like to keep watching him play hockey for as many more years as possible. 🙏
