would be very Lou to do something dumb for Marchessault while the isles should be tanking. He might waive to play for Roy
Pretty sure, even with how high the Preds' 1st is likely to be, the answer to that would be "no". Unless attempts at an extension fall through. You guys are silly. Just wait until Trotz waives whoever you want....
Just kidding, we won a game tonight, Trotz will probably extend Brunette tomorrow and see if CBJ will take a 1st to give us Fabbro back
He's also the only one with an M-NTC vs NMCIt wouldn't be a good look for the org, but Marchessault is a guy who should have value around the league and could be a good trade bait.
This seems like a win for NashvilleTo Ottawa:
Stamkos (8 x 4)
To Nashville:
Norris (7.95 x 5)
Josi's not going to waive for Edmonton (I don't think this is all that appealing a swap anyway). To Edmonton:
Josi
To Nashville:
Bouchard
Enough.

if you are concerned about norris's term (which i am too to be honest) the solution isnt stamkos with his term, especially with how poorly he has played so far this year@TheNewEra @Wondercarrot @SensFactor I mean, I admit that I didn't hate the Brassard-Zibanejad trade (other than Ottawa dishing out a free pick to NY for no reason). Admittedly, aside from one playoff push, that take didn't age well. So I may be biased towards bringing in veteran skill with an expiry date over youth and potential for the sake of a contention window.
But I have to say I'm still wary of Norris long term, and his contract is equally scary relative to Stamkos ($50k less a year with an extra year of term). Trading Norris and taking on a risk in Stamkos given his recent drop off in play and remaining salary & term doesn't elevate Ottawa's overall risk profile from a baseline of zero.. continuing to commit to Norris is also still a risk in spite of his higher level of all around play this year.
This move would likely expedite Ottawa's timeline to essentially match that of Tkachuk's remaining term, and would give Stutzle the ES support he deserves, while removing what is the third wheel on the Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson line. So I like it, and the idea has some support on the Ottawa board, but believe me when I say I totally get why Sens fans would resist the idea.

Arvidsson back to NSH for a top 4 RD could make sense for both teams.Unless we're getting something of actual value, he can terminate his contract before I'd retain to send him back to Tampa.
They have almost nothing tradeable that would be of interest.
I don't want Arvidsson back, we already traded him before because he was injured and getting older, I don't think he's going to return to form now that he's even older. We needed top 4 defensemen badly before we threw away Fabbro so I don't see how that makes sense for us.Arvidsson back to NSH for a top 4 RD could make sense for both teams.
There will be a log jam at wing position once Kane returns.
Carrier is the only RHD Nashville has that could possibly fit the description of Top 4 RHD. As much as i dont care for Carrier, i still wouldnt trade him for Arvidsson. That dude has a serious injury history and doesnt really help a retool. Id take him as cap filler but not as an actual returnArvidsson back to NSH for a top 4 RD could make sense for both teams.

He's not washed, but he clearly isn't the player he was ten years ago. He is a situation dependent player at this point. In the right situation, like with what he had in Tampa, he still is a top-tier sniper.Good god no. Stamkos looks close to washed as ive ever seen.
Be that as it may, Norris is in his prime at 25, Stamkos is nearly 35 and exiting his prime. Norris has room to get better, where Stamkos is going to decline soon. Doesnt make sense to make a trade like that. He's not washed, but he clearly isn't the player he was ten years ago. He is a situation dependent player at this point. His stats suck this year because the Preds suck. Everybody's stats are down in a down year for the team. If the team was decent his numbers would look better.
