Marchessault has a NMC. Novak could be available. Carrier should be available but probably won't be.

I don't think us Preds fans are going to be in a great position to play fantasy GMs on our players yet. They can't really be as bad as they seem under this coach, so we're all more looking to firing the coach as the first step. Once Brunette is out of the way :crossfing , then it will take a little while to re-evaluate which players TRULY should stay or go.

Just off the top, Norris is a player on the Sens we probably would have some interest in. And then since our D is pretty barebones at the moment, any scrap RD you have kicking around would probably help if Carrier was involved... JBD for example.

Nevermind about Novak, too risky for the Sens right now. Carrier is not absolutely needed but Zub gets injured a lot unfortunately. The defense is pretty good on paper when healthy (as long as Hamonic doesn't play)

Sanderson - Zub
Chabot - Jensen
Kleven - JBD

If it would take JBD to bring back Carrier I think I'd rather not do it. Ideally they'd need to send back Hamonic but inexplicably (Dorion lol) has a NMC

The need is in the forward group. There's 6 guys who can score goals but that stops there. Pinto and Greig should be able but only have 3 goals. Perron should be but has been injured and dealt with a tough family situation.

Ottawa can't afford to trade Norris, he has the best goal scoring ability on the team (that only has a 9.82 Shooting %)

What is Nashville looking for as a return?
At this point most of these guys would go for just picks, in an odd case that isn't likely to happen a guy like Forsberg or Josi I'm guessing he would be looking for good young players.

I expect he will probably wait til the deadline where guys like Nyquist and Sissons will probably draw more attention from playoff teams and likely a better deal.

I wish I could say there actually would be a fire sale, but I'm like a lot of the other Preds fans, I think he is unlikely to let some of these guys go unless they tell him they want out.

Do not be so surprised when both Stammer and March move. March has not been happy since like Nov1 I could see him demanding a trade. As to Stammer the logical thing would retain and trade him back to Tampa. Tampa wanted to keep him at a cost controlled contract in the first place, that did not work out and he cashed in. Both these guys are still able to score pitfalls of goals but they need a center to work with . Honestly without ROR the Preds have no 1C or 2C. The troubling thing March and Stammer are not going to return acceptable assets in the current situation.

As to firing the coach well s 8 game losing streak is not all on the coach no matter how much I disliked the hire in the first place.

Many fans are beating on the drum about the young kids the team has let go. Well I can see that on Tolvanan but Tomasino the question is still out. Other than that it's just noise.

The Preds big issue the young guys are not top 6 quality. So this is going to be a long painful rebuild. The best course would be trading the assets they can for young guys further into their development. Why because over 25 years the only players the team could develop were D and goalies. But over the last 5 years or more even the D development had slipped.
