Colton Sissons has been a model of underrated consistency for the past several years for the Preds. He helped do all the little things that helped make the team tick, won faceoffs, killed penalties, made the subtle plays that helped his wingers succeed. That's why the team signed him to that 7-year contract, which is not typical for a bottom-6 role player. So most years when teams have asked about him, the typical response was "go away", because he was worth more to the team than a 2nd round pick or whatever other corresponding value most were pegging him at.

This year, however... well, the first 40 games anyway were probably his worst ever as a Predator. And the team has been playing him on wing a lot lately (which I find ridiculous, because McCarron is barely even an NHLer). So he SHOULD certainly be available at long last. Although he has picked up his play lately. I think that does bode well for his ability to bounce back to his usual self for any team that does acquire him. While at the same time lowering his pricetag?

I think the bigger question is whether Barry Trotz is even willing to trade him at all. He used to mention Sissons as one of the important team leaders and he's certainly usually the style of player Trotz is infatuated with. It's hard to peg what Sissons value might be therefore... Trotz might seek a premium up to that 2nd rounder level again, or if he's become more eager to move him he might actually "firesale" him down to a 5th? :dunno:
Another player I think the Jets could have interest in. Someone who can be an effective PKer and provide some grit up and down the lineup wherever they slot him.

Your 1st is basically a 2nd, how about Sissons and Schenn/Lauzon for it? :naughty:
Not really interested in Schenn and definitely not Lauzon. Would honestly depend if other defense options fell through as the minutes tick away on the deadline.

:amazed: I would never have guessed that. I mean, none of us lives in Josi's spare bedroom, so who knows. But to me, he is not ever going to be a Cup-chaser, he is very happy to live in the Nashville country club, tip his hat to the other members, collect the accolades and the easy money, take the summers where the water is clear blue and warm, coast into a front office job when the contract runs out. :dunno:
Did you see his reaction after the empty netter last night? I don't think anyone likes to lose. I don't think anyone likes to lose the way we have as a team this year. I don't think any player at this level goes, hey, I want to be a big star in my little fish bowl, collect a check and go home for the summer. At some point, he's going to get the itch to chase a Cup one last time and I hope he gets one to be honest. He's a heck of a player and we've been lucky to watch him as long as we have.
