Naming all NHL teams and other fun trivia games

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Anyone love quizzes and stuff like Sporcle? I do ones like this often where you have to name all teams. I got 31 of 32 this time with my results spoiled below: Name all NHL teams

I missed the Wild. The last one I got was the Hurricanes. Sort of unusual for me, maybe as a Flames fan with Lindholm and Hamilton gone the connection isn't as big but normally they wouldn't be the last team I could name. The Wild, yeah I wasn't going to get it even without a 10 minute timer

Any other good sporcle quizes or websites for hockey related games and trivia?

Don't mean to come off as rude, but...you've been on a NHL forum for 16 years with almost 5000 posts and you couldn't name all NHL teams? That is...Wild

Anyways, Sporcle has tons of great quizzes, you can go through the sports category and they'll have a NHL subcategory. I use it to kill time at work.

To be fair, if there was one hockey team I'd forget existed, it'd be Minnesota
 
I don't want to brag, but not only can I name all thirty-two NHL teams, I've been accused of giving someone an infraction solely because I'm a fan of (all but one of the teams). Yes, I'm an actuary and keep track of crap like this. :P

The only team I'm missing is Utah (and yes, I was accused of being a biased Coyotes fan on multiple occasions).

I'm a Flames fan, so I go them then Vancouver and Edmonton, finish off the rest of the Canadian teams and then start thinking of previous Stanley Cup winners, Stanley Cup losers, legendary players and their associated teams, rivalries, exciting players, exciting plays, top picks, notable Cinderella runs, controversies, cities I would like to go, arenas I've been to, fun mascots, cool social media presence, some I get through some association (Rangers/Islanders (place), Blues/Blue Jackets (colour), Devils/Stars (horoscopes), Golden Knights/Kings (medieval)). And none of that applies to the Wild.

I'll get them first next time just cause I missed them this time, but after that I'll probably forget again. Keep in mind this is a timed event with no help. It wasn't like I saw the logo or was given the city name or even divisions. Average is 89% so I'll take my 99% :).

And yeah I get lost in wikiholes and have a million bookmarks right now lol.

I memorized all teams in alphabetical order when I was a kid and can say all of them in under 10 seconds no flex

Fun game I used to play tho was naming a player, and then the opponent having to name a player that starts with the last letter name #1 does.

For ex I say Kiprusoff, then opponent days Fuhr, then I say Raymond, then opponent days Dansk, etc etc until someone runs out of time (set a time limit on each turn)
