Name a former Leaf you liked but no one else liked

Larry Murphy. IIRC, he was the player with the most Cup wins in the 90s. HOFer as well. Tough times in Toronto though.

Mike Gartner is another player we acquired when he was around the same age as Murphy (past prime years and closer to the end of their playing days). Of course, I don't believe Gartner was disliked. HOFer too though and one of my favourite Leafs of all time, relatively brief tenure here and all.

Jonas Hoglund is another. He was a solid player but flubbed to many scoring chances playing with Sundin. They had chemistry. He was Solid but everyone wanted a star winger for Mats. I liked Hoglund

Edit: he could put up close to 200 shots per season. He missed to many tap in goals and drew hate. He played hard.

I was a huge Salming fan as a kid. I had never seen a dman like him on Leafs at that time.

For a few years a lot of kids in school would verbally abuse me and make fun of me for liking a Swedish player on Leafs when there were so many other players.

Anyway, long story short, he eventually won EVERYONE over ;)

John Kordic, I wasn't old enough to even know we actually traded Courtnall for him or to know what a trade even was, but I liked that he fought a lot and when we'd play fight outside playing ball hockey it was Kordic vs Probert.

My dad HATED him because he was a Courtnall fan, and Kordic was a drunken bum who also had the nerve to wear #27

Tyson Barrie. I thought he was a great pylon for the team.

But seriously, probably Kadri. I think a lot of people liked him but hated his dumb decisions. He was one of the few Leafs with toughness and that would throw his body around when we were down and the rest of the team looked like they were waiting to go play COD after the game.

I'm going to say Phaneuf. I didn't love him, but certainly had a higher opinion than many.

Ron Hainsey would be another guy that I thought was pretty solid.

That was such a horrific trade the instant it was made that it made you want to cry.

Just kidding
Kapanen. His speed could really open the game up and he was one of our only forwards last year who would actually hit people. Too bad he has the hockey IQ of a potato
