For me it was McCabe, the fan base really turned on him in his last couple of seasons here but I was always a fan. I think people mostly hated him because of his contract and that own goal he scored.

Another one for me was Lee Stempniak, I think ppl didn’t like him because we gave up Steen for him but I always thought he looked like one of the most dangerous guys on the ice when he was here and always seemed to work really hard.

Kenny Agostino currently. Think the dude deserves a shot.

Formerly?

Was a massive fan of Pavel Kubina. I think he unfairly gets lumped into the “failed attempts to rebuild the Defense”.

Chad Kilger.

I remember when I was constantly bashed for liking Hyman. Always knew he had it in him.

Larry Murphy. Look up “scapegoat” in a pictorial dictionary and you will find a photo of Murphy. Murphy was booed out of town by Leaf fans and, in the best revenge, won two cups with Detroit, his new team. Maybe Leaf fans expected a saviour and he wasn’t up to that role. But he was a Hall of Fame level defenseman and Leaf fans gave him almost no chance here.

If it wasn't for whatever his off-ice issues were, Kilger would have been the perfect 3rd liner. Bigger meaner version of Kapanen.

Phaneuf was on an island here in Toronto. Funny enough, he would be the perfect partner for Rielly on this current team. Would be a lesser version of the Hawk's Keith-Seabrook pairing during their cup runs.

Joey Crabb. Thought he was the ideal 3rd liner. Great on the forecheck, decent speed, good hands, nice shot, solid PKer, net front presence... The problem was the coaching staff loved him way too much as he found himself on the top line many nights lol

One of my favourite goals (lol Ryan Miller)

HM: Joe Colborne. Didn't seem like we gave him much of a chance with the big club
