How does a goalie get a long look at a one timer?
I always call a spade a spade with Hanks goals against. Those Stamkos shots were both literally perfect in release and placement.
Frankly, thinking either of those Stamkos goals are anything other than snipes is crazy. And I’m not a guy who thinks any shot that beats Hank is a snipe. Those two were. Perfect timing on the release, the first going high glove which is across Hank’s body while he’s moving to his blocker side, it’s the hardest shot to stop in that scenario especially when it’s placed so perfectly. The second high blocker weird release as he was falling and roofs it from that tight, most players can’t get the puck that high with that kind of velocity from that spot. That’s what separates a guy like Stamkos from other skill guys.
Third goal was dog shit, looked like he was guessing on a pass or a shot somewhere and was clearly wrong and got caught. Bad read is an understatement there. Brutal.
