Let’s break down the Leafs per 5 games.

Game 1-5, Leafs were structured and could had won all 5 and ended with a 3-2 records-6 pts.

Game 6-10, Leafs were structured in TWO games and were lucky to get a point in the other three losses and ended with a 2-2-1 records-5 pts.

Wonder which Leafs team will show up in the next 5 games.
More importantly, which Leafs team will show up in the playoffs

So you think October games matter then? Outside of the 2 points, they do not. We have seen what matters is how a team is playing when the playoffs rolls around.

Typically the hottest teams in the league from Jan/Feb onwards go the deepest.
I want special teams fixed period. You have all that talent but no results. That's coaching.

If you enjoy the regular season just as much, that's great. For me, the playoffs are on whole other level, I suspect that is the case for most people but there's no right or wrong here.

You said this:
Thats more about the fans crowing then the players.....McDavid didnt care making it to the cup finals ....he wanted to win it.

That was why I said I bet the fans care. I suspect McDavid cares too but I know for a fact that many fans do care starting with myself, and all my friends who follow the Leafs.

Putting words in my mouth is senseless, don't do that, it's not a good look. I don't "hate" watching the regular season, I just find the playoffs to be much more exciting and my happiness doesn't depend on how the Leafs do. Cheers!

Sorry I didn mean to put words in your mouth :(

I was just making a point the players dont care about playoff series wins. Those wins are for fans to crow about. We have heard it a million times now.....Leafs cant get past the 1st rd. But for the players it doesnt matter.....lose in the 1st or 3rd rd its all the same thing. Its a failed season and a disappointment.

I enjoy watching the playoffs too. But I dont get all caught up in it. I guess Im just too old. Win it all or the season is a disappointment. If the leafs made it to the 3rd rd the last 7 yrs and that was it ....it still would be a big disappointment.

I cheered as much last night as I did in a playoff win. :)

And Thankfully your happiness isnt tied to the leafs.....or any other form of entertainment.

Cheers

If you want them to win it all, how do you not get caught up in it? Isn't it exciting when you win a round and then even more exciting when you win another round? And then if you get to the final. I mean sure EDM lost in game 7 but wasn't it a hell of a ride while it lasted?

Sure looking back on it later, it's always disappointing when it's over no matter how far you got, but it's not all the same, not to me, and not to many of my friends and that's why we have fond memories of the team in 93, also the team in 78 and the Sundin/Quinn teams.

Anyhow, like I said there's no right or wrong here. If you cheered as much last night as you do for a playoff win, that's cool. For me, nothing I've ever seen during the regular season that compares to the excitement of the playoffs, not even Sittler's 10 point night.

Simple point that seems difficult to grasp.
What's the point of all the baggage to start a new year. Every year is a chance. I woudn't even watch if I was so toxic about everything, it's weird. I love to criticize with the best of them, that's part of being a fan, but some can't allow a ray of hope, must be stomped. More and more I see it as projection, than hockey perspectives. Why wake up in the morning with these attitudes lol.
