I commented at the end of the 1st that the topline needed to be switched this game. Every single shift that line went on it seemed either they spent the entire shift in their own zone leaking shots or ended the the shift with the Jets taking a penalty. It was 3 turnovers by that line that led to the Morrissey penalty on the go ahead goal and the very next shift they got scored 5 on 5 effectively ending the game.

That line should not have been allowed to stay together any longer than after the first 3rd period shift and maybe the Jets could have had a chance.
By the end of the first Nashville had 5 shots. I don't think any line was leaking shots at that point.

I want nothing more than this team to succeed but I refuse to get sucked into thinking this teams different than last year's. The signs are there that they cannot keep up the play that got them to 17-3. It does not make me feel good to be right. I wish I could be more optimistic.
look up our record with this forward group before we added monahan/toffoli and ended up getting slower... nobody expects them to maintain this winning% that would be insane... you haven't been proven right and predicting a 4 game losing streak is simply loser talk

Wild, kings, Stars, knights . You do not think playing those 4 in 8 days is problematic? I beg to differ. Please prove me wrong.
True adding Toffoli was perhaps a mistake but I think all fans loved that addition at the time. Who knew he would fit in so poorly?

Are you taking bets on that?
What bet would you like to make?

those are going to be tough games, that doesn't mean it's going to be a 4 game losing streak, and predicting it when we are 17-4 and is honestly pathetic, you just want to have it both ways where if we win you can be like yay we won or if we lose you can pat yourself on the back and celebrate...

I don't judge teams based on b2b games. Without rest you aren't all there. Having said that the jets were pretty good for the 1st and parts of the 2nd. The wheels came off because glycogen levels ran low. I have faith in the team I think they've earned it lol.

Perfetti has 2 5v5 points in the last 15 games. Some secondary scoring would be nice around now. Can’t have Scheifele and Connor winning every game for the Jets.

They looked gassed and there were a lot of passengers in this one. Very few of their positive qualities were on display and they had only a handful of impressive shifts. Nashville was likely desperate to showcase they are better than they have been so...who knows. Maybe that was a factor as well?

I thought Comrie played pretty well though so there's that.

Next.

Why would you think you are right as there is nothing to support your pessimism other than a single off game that was a B2B on the road on a long travel night in a tough stretch in the schedule?

With the next 4 games including Minnesota, Los Angeles, Vegas and Dallas, it not impossible to be 1-4 or worse with a depleted blue line.

Watched the game. Think someone in the GDT thread early called it a trap game. Yup. Very different approach to the Pens game in terms of effort and skating and I'd hazard that was in the Jets players heads - easy game. There are no easy games in the NHL.

Fantastic game by Comrie, certainly can't fault him. Saros stepped up his game, to say the least. I have him in fantasy and have not been using him to this point as he has been subpar.

Unfortunate about Samberg but injuries do happen. Hoping he rehabs strong. We'll see how Heinola fits but it will hopefully be nice having the number of the D on the roster we currently have. Juggle a bit, insert Heinola and hopefully he comes in hungry. Stan should play against the Wild as well as he lives in their heads rent free at this point.

The hit on Morrissey in the third may have been unintentional but the league should look at it. We've been suspended on hits like that and it was easily avoidable. I'd consider it a missed call on the part of the refs but the league should resolve it regardless. Do I expect that? Nope, not for a second.

Comrie was the best Jet player tonight … maybe it had to do with he never played last night.
The schedule makers did the Jets no favors … the Jets play another Preds game on B2B again the next time they are in Nashville plus 2 games vs the Avs.the Jets play B2B … that’s BS giving a team in your division has an advantage.

Why revel in this? It’s a tough schedule and we are a good team. Why predict gloom and doom and not look forward to how this team can handle the setbacks?
Who’s revelling in this? Not me. I never once predicted the outcomes of their upcoming schedule.

Team fandom isn’t solely for those with blind faith. Jets and heartbreak are all too familiar with each other.

Seriously dudes, I do not need to pay myself on the back for being right about a losing streak. I am concerned that they have over achieved and are about to take a major step backwards. I hope I am wrong and would be the first to admit it.
