All the hipsters on here are making me lol. I hate independent bands, btw. Im a metal/hard rock fan. Mötley, AC/DC, Megadeth, Slayer, Testament, Kreator, Jackyl, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, etc. \m/

Nah, I'm just all over the map. But these guys are still my favorites.

And even better live. The AOL sessions version is amazing.

"The Alchemy Index" is such an amazing series of EPs, but I admit I've heard less of their other offerings

Anyone like Butthole Surfers?

Electric Larry Land is a fantastic album from start to finish, and their other albums have some great songs smattered throughout them. Was huge into stuff like that in high school along with Monster Magnet, Super Furry Animals, Flaming Lips, and others. Yeah... psychedelia. Way better than Nu-Metal.

Haven't heard this song before. It sounds like what I try to play when I'm drunk. Except it has rhythm, sustain and technique. I like it a lot.

Vaughan is very similar to Hendrix minus the feedback and abit of flamboyance.

Vaughan > Hendrix? =<?

There is definitely a Boss Flanger pedal at work there as well.

Vaughan was more of a classical technique guy, whereas Hendrix, having learned the guitar basically on his own, is all over the map. I have a very hard time playing Hendrix, because I am more of a technique learner. (Ex.: Ritchie Blackmore is perfect for learning rock songs at the intermediate level, which is where I am at.)

I am targeting a Vaughan song for August. :)

Try "King Bee". :handclap:

I been listening to Blackberry Smoke lately, for all you Southern Boys. Got tix to see them at the HoB in April.
I also really like the new Pearl Jam.

I like a wide variety. I became narrow minded in music in junior high but started playing guitar and that really expanded my horizons. All time favorite band is Rush. I like a lot of stuff, even soft rock, but mainly rock and metal (especially 80's metal). Only a little rap.

Right now I'm listening to Pantera - A New Level. How I wish that song would start describing the Kings after the Oly break. lol

SRV is much better than Jimi Hendrix.

What Ron said

It's all a matter of opinion, but to say SRV was much better is hard to agree with. Even moreso when considering when they came around. Both were amazing. SRV would be the first to disagree with you as Hendrix was his biggest influence.

Since you brought up The Doors, must post this:

I remember that SportsCentury documentary on ESPN about Gretzky and of course they play this song when covering Wayne's arrival to L.A. Good driving tune.

Pfffft. Does L.A even have a music scene?

Oh yeah, it does. Probably better than any city outside of London.

Seen them live on their comeback tour. 3 days was amazing. Strippers hanging from the stage in giant metal spheres. Pretty alright. Seen Metallica, Amen, RHCP, bad religion, nofx, warpaint ooo. Can't think of any other big la bands that I've witnessed. Love to see ratm, soad, the Icarus line, weezer guns and roses. So many huge bands, such a crap ice hockey team (off topic)

Ohhh man the oc them song is good

Haha no it's not you dumb drunk idiot

Nice. You can't ever go wrong with Pantera!

Still remember seeing this on Headbanger's Ball as a kid and riding my bike down to the PX to buy the album the next day.
