OT: Music Part V

you punks are too young to know about the time unkown Canadians Triumph walzed into the US music festival in 83, had apple co-founder Steve Wozniak announce them to the stage , and blow the doors off every band there. But now you know , and can enjoy a piece of rock history

Then... nothing.. Triumph faded away into oblivion minus 2 more small hits

We worked on this number and got it now.

Can't remember when we last
Took the time to see a sunset
Fleeting moments in your dreams
Silhouettes and scattered fragments

Of a past somewhere behind
Reminds you of what you once wanted

Once you felt you found a way
Left your old ambitions
By the lakebed

Round each corner you will see
That there's a new horizon
And it's all about you and me
And what we can do that matters

As the waves come and go
Fads vanish while underneath the snow
Lies the grass ready to grow

After all is said and done

It′s you and her that hurt me
Now it seems all the laughter is gone
I remember the days going out, having fun
Now my bitterness wakes me in the evening sun
I remember this all in vain

Summer nights drawn by the fire
All the embers were smoldering still
Now I'm lost in the cold

Wasted all I got
Taste the sour from my eyes
My face is raw with salt
Starving candles, dying light
Can somebody take me home?

In our prime we prospered
Still I feared the rain coming down
I remember the nights holding hands in the park
In our innocence, stirring up the passionate sparks
I remember the golden days

And we′d be drinking wine
Downing it fast, it is almost time
Almost time to let go

Gave it all I got
I'm in pieces, torn apart
How I know it is all my fault
Starving candles, dying light
Can somebody take me home?

Not too bad of a composition for a 17 year old. She was back at the Pinkpop the other day with the band minus the drummer who is filling in for U2.

Having some fun at the VVA doing some other singers works, good job! :thumbu: :thumbu:

You get a big wow from me as no way would I have ever expected anybody here to have heard of Di-rect. They've been around a while and have seen them a few times, they put on a fun show. Pretty mainstream overall but have a couple of powerful emotional songs. They played a bunch of nights recently in Rotterdam and it was good show and emotional by what my friends that went said. The singer ( Marcel ) lost his brother a couple of months back in a car crash and they were very close. I would have liked to have gone but was not around. He's an emotional singer and a gentle soul and is pretty good and will add a few songs from his past performances doing covers.
This from the other night.

And from days gone by

Yeah they're great, but it was @rik schau who actually first posted them on this thread and introduced them to me as well.
