OT: Music 6

I've quietly listened to music for a bit... headphones on now... Son's back at his studies...

Then I started thinking about who HFJets have lost... Lolmiller1... GingerPapa...

I wish they could be here with us...

My ode to them...

Josh Homme has inspired me...

My wish for the world is... believe in yourself... don't let anyone dictate you... tell you... you can't think differently...

No one is entitled to what they believe... they should share... even if it is not agreed upon...

We need to get back to "agreeing to disagree"... and be friends... or the World will move ever closer to becoming more dangerous...

"Do you know who you really are.... are you sure it's really you".... Josh Homme...

Not a Toronto band... Halifax...

These guys are singing my song... travel... time zones... performance only... no other option...

You are your own secretary... your own administrator... your own roadie... your own travel agent... your own psycho-analyst... your only driver....

Your own best friend... the only the other friend... ? ... The yellow line...

Hey you... ;)

Now back to HFJets...

Be positive... be present... be in the meantime...

"For a future love dream that I'm still to find....But in the meantime"

Just like you... just like you... that's me talking... to you...

I'm an Aho... still awake...

My redemption... lyrics that are a message to all...

One hand on this wily comet... Take a drink just to give me some weight
Some uber-man I'd make... I'm barely a vapor
They shone a chlorine light on... A host of individual sins
Let's carve my aging face off...
Fetch us a knife... Start with my eyes....
Down so the lines... Form a grimacing smile...
Close your eyes to corral a virtue
Is this fooling anyone else?....
Never worked so long and hard... To cement a failure....
We can blow on our thumbs and posture... But the lonely are such delicate things...
The wind from a wasp could blow them... Into the sea... With stones on their feet.... Lost to the light and the loving we need..........
Still to come... The worst part and you know it
There is a numbness... In your heart and it's growing
With burnt sage and a forest of bygones... I click my heels.... Get the devils in line....
A list of things I could lay the blame on... Might give me a way out....
But with each turn.... It's this front and center.... Like a dart stuck square in your eye
Every post you can hitch your faith on... Is a pie in the sky
Chock full of lies... A tool we devise
To make sinking stones fly...
And still to come.... The worst part and you know it... There is a numbness
In your heart and it's growing....

My words.... Don't blame what's happening in the World for how you feel... look in the mirror and accept yourself... warts and all and admit it... what ever that means...

One last one for my buddy... Mike...

My best friend... Brother from another Mother...

Gone too soon... gone too long...

One of Mike's favorite bands... the irony... Mike got to love this song... not too long after Pat DiNizio died... he died...

From Pat D' ... it's like a homage to Mike...

“Those same nice folks that gave us a career and a life worth living came back because their kids were now in college. Their kids were out of the house, and they always loved rock and roll. What the kids don’t understand is that their parents’ generation that grew up on rock and roll, inside they’re still 16 or 17 and they still love to go out and listen to loud rock and roll. But when you get married and have children and have a real job in the real world some things take priority and you become less active as a record buyer and a concertgoer. We’ve found though sheer persistence we’ve been able to continue to do what we do.”

Persist HFJets...

Been listening to this guy for a while and was totally shocked to see he’s coming here in a few weeks…love it! He’s a legend and one of the coolest rockstar dudes around!

I'll be in Hamilton that week. Very disappointed I won't see that show. If you have any doubts about going, push them aside and go. I'll be very jelly.

Speaking of shows. I hummed and hawed on the Halestorm show for about six solid minutes before opting in. The backup is Lindsey Stirling who I respect the talent of, but it's not really a show I'd go to. Lzzy and Lindsey are apparently good friends so it makes a lot of sense for them to tour together and they are both immensely talented but different genres.

I've missed Halestorm a few times but couldn't not go see them given I should be in town this time around. Great musicians and Lzzy has arguably the best rock voice right now.

It's funny but he actually sounds alot like Tom Petty . I'm really looking forward to this show.

First single from a truly extraordinary album by The Waterboys - Life, Death and Dennis Hopper. There's also a good video about the making of the album called A Wild and Beautiful Ride.
