Don't know who that is but i do like some old Hip hop .

He's one of the most influential hip hop artists of this generation. He has two gold records, one platinum record, and two triple-platinum records, and is the only rapper to ever win a Pulitzer Prize. He's headlining the Superbowl this year.

Another song that was never released before by Tom Petty, pretty good.

I'm an absolutely huge Tom Petty fan and have been for some time. To be honest I was a little late to my fandom with respect to Petty, only really taking hold in around 1989. Obviously I was aware of his music and enjoyed it prior to that, but in 89 I became a bit fanatical.

I've seen him 10 times and he's one of the few bands that I've traveled to see.

I worked at the bookstore in the late 80s and early 90s. I don't know how many recall that they had probably the best music store in the city in the late 70s and early 80s. It got pared down significantly by the time I worked there but it was still pretty good. Time had moved to the CD era and I was able to pick up "Playback" in 1995. It was quite an unusual box set of CDs that really didn't receive much acclaim or sales. It was a 6 CD set and I still have it to this day. The last nearly 30 years I've been listening to "new releases" of songs by Petty that nobody has on album, but most were on that box set (not including 'Never be You' but it spurred the memory.

Got to see Tom on the last tour when they played Minneapolis (where I saw him play four times including two nights back to back with Pearl Jam - they changed up who opened on successive nights and both shows were quite different) and am very thankful for that opportunity.

If you can guess the year I first saw Petty play, you win the kewpie doll. As mentioned, I always liked his music but seeing him play live was revelationary for me. I was completely blown away and it was far from my first concert.

Sorry about the long intro...

Completely unrelated but such a kickass tune. Saw Metallica in 1986 (at the Playhouse theater!) I believe it was and they played this for the encore. I was well aware of the song before they played it.
