Attitude...

Front Man... Rock n' Roll Attitude...

The HIves served me well twice in concert...

Once in Montreal... many years ago... an introduction...

And a number of years again in Europe... just by sure plain luck... Live both times...

Pelle Almqvist was one of the most enigmatic performers that only Alt fans knew...

And yes... they are not British... not a Brit' band... most people I talk to think they are... thinking that they know them...

They are Swedish... no Abba...

And one more... more attitude... great rock n' roll Video Edit/Production... and Pelle performance... he was better live... amazing...

Chilling here on a Friday night with a well earned pause after a great week of life and business...

Two different things really... understand that...

I was casually browsing music... and this orirginal performance of Joe Cocker came up...

Joe Cocker was a nobody really pre- Woodstock.. the Beatles, Lennon & McCartney to be exact with this performance... pumped his tires free of charge...

His soulfull version just wowed them... they realized they could never could top it nor should... they cut him in with a Business deal of their own choice... took less...

And gave Cocker the honor of making it his song... they realized they could never top this... this gave John & Paul Life they said... it was so astounding...

Yes the Beatles released it on the Seargent Peppers Lonely Peppers Heart Band Album...

But they rarely performed it live... they respected the special performance of Cocker with their song...

Here it is... from Woodstock... understand... this is a live open air performance... without his whole supporting cast... ad hoc performers... and shit mixing... other than the mic' on him... and it's a one off...

And it doesn't matter... He Kills It... it's just WOW !!!!

P.S.... I just remembered something... I said Ad Hoc band... my bad... the Guitar was worlds class... John Paul Jones framed his vocals in a one off almost no rehearsal rythmn guitar heavy blues framing... spectacular... so sorry... I f'd up... nothing Ad Hoc about that Guitar...

Happy to hear you had a good week, @John Agar

Hearing shit like that warms my heart

Thanks Buff'...

I'm all about sharing the good...

Sounds crazy... Its HFJets... contentious...

But if we all agreed and got along all the time... it would boring...

I've been accused of sharing My life... guilty as charged...

I've spent a lifetime helping others... and this Board is an extension of that...

I share... for those who care and care to acknowledge sincerity and risking life beyond posturing, cynicism and ego...

Life is too short... too brutal to waste it... I've never had you Buff' comment on any post I've made in the Music thread... and it makes my day...

And if your heart is warmed... it means a lot to Me... Thank you for sharing My joy...

If you'are not a fan of this kind of Music... this is for you... like it or not... this is My cynical biting part of me... that loves humor in all forms.... to Me this is just killer in this Art Form... and Steve Martin got the best to support from his friends for him and his sentiment to be a service to others with their passion in music and bringing a sense of humor and joy in their performance...

You have an edgy sense of humor... and you don't back down... this song is about boldness... and Country sentiment... it's you strangly on HFJets...

Steve Martin won a Music Grammy award... just having fun with friends from L.A. the best of the best all music genres.. just having fun for a few months together... eg. the fiddle player played with the LA International Symphony as a lead classic violinist... and he loves fiddling... makes me laugh...

That's what we do on HFJets... have fun... just hanging out... being Buds at the bar with out being there...

This is for you... :thumbu:

My Dad was an accomplished Jazz musician... Trumpet player, Flugel, Xylophone... and lead singer for his band during his college days...later in his mature life a self taught eventual instructor level Classical Guitarist... I grew up with this...

And these guys are killer... for you Al'...

I'm going to fill my own boots... working on humility... it's a life long project it seems...

Eddie Vedder... West Coast Grunge star...

This is just killer... I have been blessed with my Father's gift to me.... openess in Musical influences...

Huge... vast... always looking for inspiration, the feels, the exaltation, the freeing of a serious soul (and don't call me Shirley)... and awe of talent... tatoos... genre pigeon holes... era holes... not my concern...etc. etc..

I am a big fan of excellence in music & performance all the way back to 1930... and the advent of true film performance art...

And no... I'm not that old... given My Dad's background... and Mother being a groupie of My Dad... and their era's... both being musicians... influenced me with a sense discovery and joy without bias of era... peer pressure... media influence... commercial pressure...not an impetiment...

Great music is great music... it is freedom and discovery after no geographic part of this big hard World has not been seen and discovered... Google Earth babies...

Great... so righteous and uplifting... My Dad loved this tune at almost 70 years old... so cool...

P.S. ..... this video features a tragic figure... a person I am still to this day fascintated with... it hurts me... I am an Outdoorsman... I love the freedom... his vision... but I loved and listened to my Father... who dragged me into the scary wild outdoors World... and was relentless...

It made me who I am to day... human... deeply respectful of soulfull, calm minded purposeful people... who respect the World is bigger and much more than them...

Chris McCandless... I could have been him with out My Icon crazy Dad... who showed me the Wild... I have so much empathy for that poor soul....

Chris did not understand inspite of his sincere soul... nature... the Wild World... and Alaska... is that it will kill you if you don't respect what it is....

I wish to be responsible... I don't want his fate on my worst enemy... not anyone...

What another amazing day...

The weather... I love climate change... lol...

Then the Jets... beat the living tar out of Dallas...

Then finally the Bombers...

The last game of the season before this game... the Announcers of the game of the game in Montreal... in the final moments of that game...

The divine intervention... stated... "God must love the Bombers"...

I'm okay with that...

In honor of this day for all of Winnipeg... Jets fans... Climate Change fans... and especially our Bombers off to the Grey Cup... on a misson from God...

Obviously, your parents being salt of the earth, musically inclined people, you are very much the same.

I do enjoy your posts very much.

Chris McCandles, I think, without knowing him, was a salt of the earth type as well.
A nature lover like me, a shame, what happened to him.

Already back, Nashville was something else, never expected it to be quite as crazy as it was on Broadway. Its Vegas without the huge hotels , non stop partying.:laugh:Sun records studio tour actually was starting to bring a little tear just because of the history of rock'n'roll there. Graceland was super cool, did the VIP tour so i could see as much as possible, the house isn't super big but it's as it was since Elvis died in 77 , really cool . You can't go upstairs because some of the relatives still live there. The cemetery is a sight to behold and Elvis's plane was really neat. The complex that they have built next to Graceland is absolutely massive, you need alot of time to see it all . I'm very happy i went and i think you will too . Speaking of....

Thanks for including Diana Krall... I love what she does... and...

I always joke saying... "Elvis Costello knows a good think when he sees It in Canada"...having married Diana...

Elvis is another of my favorite performers... I have loved his constant evolution throughout his life...

Here's something for you... and for my parents... they loved Burt Bacharach... and when I showed them both these performances... they loved Elvis Costello to... two Elvis toons... for Mom and Dad... and you...

** and a postscript... In each of these arrangements... Burt Bacharach utilizes the soft resonating tones of Flugel Horns... my Father was an accomplished Jazz Trumpet performer... COPD destroyed his capacity to play trumpet... so he picked up the Flugel Horn... because you could play with less breath and lung capacity....and he would play along with both these songs...

:)

COPD, I'm on my way there, if I don't give up the damn cigarettes....or worse.

So I found myself a left hand Fender acoustic, to keep my hands occupied.

I'm glad he was able to play something else.

Thank you! Love Burt, especially this one.

Mike Patton did an excellent cover of this song.
That guy, is the man of a thousand voices.

Mike again, just amazing!
