I don't care what some people say, we have the best board on HF boards.

I certainly feel most at home on this Board as I can relate to so many of you.

I wonder if the mods would agree. ;)

I'll bet there's a private, mods-only board where they are free to vent their spleens about posters that drive them up the wall and around the bend.

I would hope so, there are some pretty brutally attacking Posts at times that make me cringe & tempted to react to, especially in defense of another Member. It's a pretty thankless task & glad we have a pretty fair group here. I'd like to think that most of the work that HF Jets Mods do is cleaning up the Posts which are deemed inappropriate. I know I've stepped over the line a few times & needed to clean it up:oops:.

So, onto Music,

Happy Birthday Kirk Hammett of Metallica.

Blue Rodeo live on Letterman
This was good ....

What a great band these guys are, in some way lived a bit under the shadow of the Hip but to me as equally if not more influential to the Canadian Music scene. My earliest memory of them was seeing them at the Kenora rec centre in about 87 or so. They were touring for Outskirts and really hadn’t completely taken off yet.

They have really endured by constantly shifting and maturing their sound. Bobby Wiseman (Winnipegger) was such an influence on their sound and style in the early days, he was like a young Garth Hudson. and when he left the band it left a huge hole.

Lost Together is my favourite album, their last with Wiseman and a great comeback from the good but overproduced Casino. The addition of Kim Deschamps gave them a whole new layer and redefined their sound after Wiseman left.

I recently came across an all-female Deep Purple tribute band from Italy called Strange Kind of Women.

They do quite a good rendition of this song ...

Deep Purple drummer Ian Paice provides his thoughts ...

Whenever I think of Paice, I always remember as a young teen, one of my older buddies playing me this:

I had no idea I person could strike that fast (~3:30 in) and went on a DP binge for about a month.
