Blue Rodeo live on Letterman
This was good ....
What a great band these guys are, in some way lived a bit under the shadow of the Hip but to me as equally if not more influential to the Canadian Music scene. My earliest memory of them was seeing them at the Kenora rec centre in about 87 or so. They were touring for Outskirts and really hadn’t completely taken off yet.
They have really endured by constantly shifting and maturing their sound. Bobby Wiseman (Winnipegger) was such an influence on their sound and style in the early days, he was like a young Garth Hudson. and when he left the band it left a huge hole.
Lost Together is my favourite album, their last with Wiseman and a great comeback from the good but overproduced Casino. The addition of Kim Deschamps gave them a whole new layer and redefined their sound after Wiseman left.
