I mean, what a great idea to risk isolating the guy you can’t afford to lose right before he hits restricted free agency.

Reaves 'retires' to additional assist Gallant, works out w/team, next yr can unretire if we squeeze mo cap which is mo likely.

Obv, Strome + Nemeth + geo + Hajek + recover Hank 1.5 buyout cap hit = Fox + Zib new $

Lose all dregs like McKegg replace w/min bodies at min #s

Would gamble on Gauthier 1 yr 700k or whatev min, he looked good w/Chytil, our legit 2C, and add them w/Vatrano. LaF + KK elsewhere in lineup

If Motte is cheap and goes 1-2 yrs we can go there

Our biggest prob is big $$ can't be moved (bread)
or is essential (Kreider, Goodrow)
or in between (Zib)

so no one other than Lindgren can be moved.

nitpicking, you should call them min bodies+ because as much as we detest McKegg, he is a min body at min #s (league min $750k). How can we do better?

I think Lindgren stays but I do think we should trade him when the opportunity arises simply because he's going to undergo Dan Girardi syndrome at some point. He's still young so think his body will hold up through his contract but if we can trade him in an upgrade then by all means.

To summarize your proposal you want to give Vatrano 4/4.25 to a winger that will block Kaako/Laf/Othmann/Kravtsov from a top-6 role.

You want to subject Gauthier to another year under a coach that played him 3 games since April when he was icing pre-season lineups.

I think we are at the point where we look for vets on PTOs or vet min $ for 1 last shot at cups that have some playoff experience to fill out 4th line center, extra forward and 6/7D.

Draft day will be huge to shaping our team next year. Either Drury finds his 2/3C solution or he solves that problem at Free Agency the following week.
