Me, personally I think they should be sellers. Unload at the very least Benn.

Well not to me. I still can't believe the number of delusional Habs fans that want to go all in when we might not even get in the playoffs. We're in year 1 of a fricking re-tool and people are already antsy to go shopping for rentals.

Now a Hagg - Lekhonen trade I could get behind. A rental, any rental? Jesus ****ing H Christ haha ur fun a first and lehkonen is all in

It puts a pause on our re-tool and picks are needed for just that. What's the use of throwing our picks out the window for a rental when we're not even sure of getting in the post season? Patience is a virtue. Christ almighty some people can't even wait a whole season before starting to dismantle our future. If I hear another anything can happen in the playoffs I'll have an aneurysm.

Are we really comparing a D that never brok 15pts to one that's been on pace for 40-50pts in the last 2 seasons?
Are you really comparing hagg to someone who gets points he’s a physical stay at home d there to block shots and great on the pk if you don’t know what you’re talking about don’t comment

Maybe. Maybe Marner'll sign for 7 mill per, maybe Puljujarvi'll turn into a franchise winger. And maybe the Habs win it all this year. But would you wager good money on it?

Only fools and Bergevin spout those idiocies... so just fools I guess.
Well calling people fools is a little harsh but trying to put urself in a position to reap the benifets of the deep prospect pool is smart .. surrounding young guys with guys like Gallagher simmonds is smart adding a 23 year old ld with upside ( in my eyes) without selling off a a prospect is not foolish ... sitting back and not having the balls to be aggressive and build ur team is

Could you care to read the post?

Guy said Hagg was in the same mold as Petry which is DEF not the case. He's a bottom pairing D which Habs have already enough. We need a good puck moving LHD to play in our top4, not another bottom pairing d-man

Hagg has NO UPSIDE. He's never had top2 upside and the potentiel of having top4 upside has fade away a long tiem ago. We DO NOT NEED another bottom pairing D. Keep the assets if the ebst LHD option we get is Robert freakin Hagg and a rental

Is a tremendous puck mover with a smooth skating stride. Can play an effective shutdown role, mostly because of an extremely active stick. Can log huge amounts of ice time. Has the size NHL scouts love, but he must learn how to use it more effectively (and more often) to maximize output at the highest level. Is not a natural point producer....thn scouting report

And now, we can see that at the NHL lvl he ISNT able to mvoe the puck efficiently. He may be a good skater and have a good shutdown role, but that still doesn't make hima good top4D. We need a Broding type of D, not another Kulak

as I remember same things were said about petry when he was acquired by Habs ...I'd like to see him paired with petry

We already knew Petry was a good puck moving d-man playing on a dumpster team w/ Edmonton, EVERYONE knew it.

It cost the Habs a 2nd and a 5th to get Petry. If we can get Hagg for a 3rd or Lindgren (because he does NOT have the ssame value Petry had at the point) so be it. ButFFS you are also giving away Lehkhonen and a 2nd for Wayne Simmonds, whom we DO NOT NEED AS WE ARE NOT CONTENDERS

Ive seen some Flyers fan asked for a 2nd for Hagg and you HATE him on your board...

And you are saying "Lehkonen + 2019 first" ......... ?

Know how Montreal fans all get upset when people say "typical habs proposal, lol habs fans" in a bad proposal and habs fans say " you can't paint the whole fanbase with the same brush?" . This is one of those cases.

I like Hagg. I think when he's used in the right role, he's a perfectly capable d man. Nothing great, but generally steady. Occasional boneheaded play, then the occasional game like against Winnipeg a week and a half ago when he was an absolute stud.

The reason most fans don't like him is because he was played ahead of players more deserving of the role than him - mainly Sanheim - under our previous coach. But that's no fault of his. What's he going to do? Say no thanks, give the time to someone else? I digress.

To be fair, lehkonen and first probably makes no sense for the Habs. I'm not sure Montreal should be chasing rentals this year, especially at the expense of their first. I don't think Simmonds and haggs positions are even a need, but I don't know your team either. But I think if you're asking about Simmonds is because you want to make noise. And if you are expecting to make noise, the first would be expected to be late, so it's probably a fair ish ask.

losing a second, lekonen, and lindgren is not going all in. And there is something to be said for teams getting experience in the playoffs even in years when they can't win.

Getting a possible future LD for a second and scraps and 20 games of simonds is not a bad deal.

i ask, not rhetorically, do you miss andreghetto ?
