I wouldn't hate the idea of trying Kastelic on the Habs had Evans showed he could be more than a 4th liner at center the NHL level (he didn't).

Pezzetta is barely worth anything and the only Kosolov I know of is a netminder in the Flyers org, so I'll take for granted that THIS Kosolov isn't worth much either.

But Edmundson will definitely fetch something more interesting than Kastelic when traded, so that's a very obvious no.

His skating has improved a lot. Still far from a strength, though.

He will get a look at some point this season. I suspect he will play bottom 6 + net front on PP2.

Yeah I'd pass on this too. Ottawa needs a right handed right defender in my opinion. Can't stand watching guys on their offhand trying to stop pucks from getting out of the o-zone.

If it’s not a RD, or a high end LD that can play the other side - there is no point for Ottawa to make a deal.
Rather keep Kastelic.

Johnny Kovacevic is pretty decent for what he is though.

Maybe. He has the tools but there is definitely a boom/bust element to him.

Kastelic is obviously the much safer player, although without the shot or offensive IQ that Sokolov has.

Mark Stone's biggest knock was his skating til he spent a whole off-season just doing that. It is teachable, team just needs to find him the right coach.

Developing into a solid dependable 3rd pairing RD.
