Yikes, no.

Totally different style to Savard and cannot play the crease clearing role that Savard does.

Carrier is an undersized, 3rd pairing defenseman who doesn’t really make mistakes and doesn’t do anything of significance. Can log minutes for a bad team. Strong shot but rarely uses it.
If anything, he's a Harris replacement. But on the other side.

Carrier been pretty bad so not going to miss him for the Preds. Barron is much younger and bigger so I guess that’s a win for us. But either way, just a change of scenery trade for both I believe.

Sometimes bigger defenseman take more time to develop so who knows. We know what carrier is though and he’s not getting any better.

Some Habs fan was really pissed off at me last season when I asked if Barron was at risk to be lost to waivers this season since it didn't seem like he was progressing like expected.

Guess I should have asked about either waivers or trading him away for a bottom pairing veteran D-man.

The contract is what I hate about this deal.

Carrier is overrated and Barron sucks. I’d rather have Carrier at least there is a baseline NHL defenseman there. I suppose if you squint really, really hard Barron has more upside.

Almost as mad as jets fans were when they were told they’d pay a first for monahan and like it

I guess you should have because having Carrier is clearly more valuable than waiving Barron or else Hughes would have done that instead.
