Not quite. But he didn’t say they were idolized.
He mispelled the word, but yeah he did...

What I think is most likely is Habs fans having a knee jerk reaction to a few games by a goalie.

Budaj, Tokarski, Condon, Lindgren, Niemi, Primeau and now Dobes. All were idolatrized by the fanbase and then...

Dobes did great in his first game, but that's one game.

Is that you denying that you wrote what you wrote ?

No, how do you get that? I'm saying you're attributing me intents I do not have.

Troll on; no one's buying what you're selling, buddy.

I am not trolling. I am saying our fanbase has had very volatile reactions toward goalies.

You're somehow conflating this as some kind of huge attack on our fanbase

Who said anything about you being an anti-Canadiens troll ?

But what you wrote is an attack on the fan base.

Would have it been difficult to simply write "A few Hab fans" rather than "Hab fans" ?

As I said, you're both reading way too much into it because I did not include the word "some/many". I thought it was pretty obvious the fanbase is never a monolith.

Anyway, this is getting tiresome. Happy holidays!

He should have been a player! But alas, He's still a great tender, just hasn't found it in montreal.

Idolatrize is a different word than idolize, with a different but similar meaning.

It seems more appropriate to the situation than idolize to me.

All I was getting at.
Even at 75, I learn something new almost every day.

I did not know that word existed.

But then, English isn't my first language.

That said, I don't see any difference in the meaning if I read the Oxford English dictionary:

To practise idolatry; to engage in the worship or veneration of an idol or false god. Also (transitive): to worship or venerate (something) in a manner that constitutes idolatry. Frequently derogatory.

We had some terrible back-ups during the Price Era, but none was as bad as Primeau

I wanted the guy to succeeded, at one point he was supposed to be Price's successor

Needless to say, those days are long gone

Eh I think we had a few stinkers then. Scoring is just way up now, you can't directly compare stats to ten years ago with all the nerfs goalies got. Primeau probably would be an all star in the tank armor goalie era.

Niemi in 2018-19 was probably the worst.
