Proposal: MTL-COL-PIT

Now tell us the winger you think will cost 2-1st and 2-2nd and Matheson that you are willing to dump for?
[MOD]

I simply said if the cost for a centre is too high maybe look at a winger for Demidovs line. I never mentioned the cost for that winger or who that winger should be.[MOD]

I would rather take the verbal words straight from the players mouth vs the fans that play too much NHL25. You are correct about 1 thing, Crosby is very competitive but he is more loyal than anything else. A lot of these so called "reporters" that claim the pens are selling off could be a smokescreen. Dubas already stated they are not so much done selling but starting to put pieces together now. Not saying that they are not selling because I do believe they will trade at least 2-3 roster players this offseason but his goal is to get younger and faster more so than getting picks and prospects back.

I don't think either of the Pens or Crosby wants a divorce... which is why you see the comments Crosby makes. Time changes things though and I think the further the Pens are from the playoffs, the more pressure or attention this story gets. Crosby is loyal and he will give the Pens every chance to improve. However, if the Pens do sell on several vets and more towards youth, the team will have to make some momentum in the short span with that youth (probably target young NHL ready players more than picks). Otherwise, I can see both Crosby and the Pens agreeing that it's time to move in different directions. Who knows what happens this year but I can see additional attention of Crosby trades at the 26 TDL.

We will see. I'm just chatting about it among some of the other cranky ones who don't want to see any conversations about it at all.

So basically, what you're saying is that you think Crosby will want a trade because you want him on your team.

It's a complete nonsensical argument to make because Crosby already saw the Penguins doing a tear-down last off-season but still decided to re-sign. From the 2024 deadline to when Crosby extended, these were the moves the Penguins made:

-Sold Guentzel for Bunting and futures at the deadline
-Sold Smith for draft picks
-Took on Hayes for draft picks
-Took on Glass for draft picks
-Only signed Beauviller and Grzelcyk in UFA to 1 year deals

Despite all of that, Crosby still re-signed on a 2 year deal with the Penguins. If he wasn't okay with being on the Penguins as they're doing a full scale rebuild, he wouldn't have re-signed last off-season. This idea that Crosby signed with an idea that the Penguins would try to be competitive quickly, and is somehow betrayed by Dubas and will want a trade a year after signing an extension, is a complete fantasy you're making up because you want to rationalize why Crosby will want to go to your team.

Here is my main overall point. It's not 100% he is staying and it's also not 100% he is being traded. What you just posted justifies Crosby's loyalty up to now. However, this is a tipping point with the Pens. In the last several years, they were considered a bubble playoff team but now, many have them out of the mix and think the Pens need a rebuild. At a time when Crosby can still play and has a few years left.

This is not just about Crosby asking the Pens to be traded. This is a mutual situation and both the Pens and Crosby still want to win. If they don't, I'm not too sure what direction they both agree on.
