Proposal: MTL-COL-PIT

Why does Mtl need to be involved 🤔 Necas/Girard for Crosby/Rackell or Rust. If Crosby waives he is going to dictate where he goes but the Avs just need to make it look decent for Pit. A young dynamic player in Necas could help, sign him long term or flip him for additional assets. Nelson stays at 2C, Crosby 1C and MacK at 1RW. They wont want to do it unless they can actually play together.
Considering this, it looks like when the hawks traded Kane. They got peanuts for him because he chose the team and that was that.

Hawks received a cond 2nd and a 4th. Coyotes received a 3rd for retaining salary.

Necas and Girard is way too much to give up when you think of it that way. A little better when Rust or Rackell comes too who have some term, but still too much.

What an absolute dogshit offer for Crosby, even if he was available. Which he isn't.
We should go back and look at P Kane offers circa 2023 and then compare to what he actually returned. Since he picked the team, it was garbage last minute.

Who says no?

MTL Receives:
Necas

COL Receives:
Crosby
Matheson
Acciari
Habs 2025 2nd

PIT Receives:
16OA 2025
17OA 2025
Habs 2026 2nd
Girard

I imagine that the Pens flip Girard to Vancouver/CBJ for another first and use the extra picks from Montreal to move up in the draft.

Colorado unites Nate and Sid

Montreal gets their 2C
Montreal says no. That's a ton to give up for one year of Necas

So you're suggesting not only that Kane and Crosby are comparables, but their respective organizations view them similarly.

That post's dead on arrival.

No im saying if he decides to allow himself to be traded, hes going to say x team only, so x team is only competing against themselves.

And if were comparing the players themselves for hypothetical trade value:

Kane 21-22 - 92 points 1.18 ppg
Kane 22-23 before deadline - .83 ppg

Crosby 24-25 - 91 points 1.14 ppg
Crosby 25-26 before deadline - TBD

Winger vs center and obv Crosby has more name recognition and all that, but its not that far off.

Colorado laughs to the bank, Pittsburgh might think about it if they were inclined to do a rebuild, but would probably get more valuable pieces elsewhere. Montreal gets hosed giving up Matheson and four picks (2 firsts and 2 seconds) for one year of Necas.

Honestly, Why include Colorado in the deal at all? This is really a proposal between Montreal and Pittsburgh. Take out Matheson and insert Mailloux and you may get the talks going (again, if they were inclined to make such a move).

Because Crosby won’t go to Montreal.

Pretty good for Colorado, they get Crosby and mtl pays for him.
Crappy for Mtl as they need a centre - not a winger who is 1 year from UFA
Pens - not sure, if Crosby ever waives its likely for one team only so don't expect bidding war prices

Okay you got me. Sure. On behalf of the Penguins we will take this and run with it because every other of the 5,324 Crosby to Avs proposals may have gotten repeatedly shut down with stupid, unneeded concepts such as logic and evidence but THIS one. THIS IS THE ONE.

Necas is not a C. Habs are not trading for a winger.
Why not?

I am sure they have made the calls and check on the cost for available renters.Since we know lots of teams are after a 2C, Maybe the cost is too high. It might be wise to add a strong winger for the 2nd line and worry about a 2c at the deadline or next summer.

He’s not going to Colorado. He wants to remain a Penn. why is that so hard to comprehend for Avs fans?
That's possible but we don't know if he will enjoy life as a Pen since they have officially entered rebuild mode. there will be some brutal seasons ahead. I understand he loves it there but maybe the best thing he can do for them is accept a trade and kick start the rebuild for them.

Habs need a 2C and a vet 1st/2nd pairing RHD. The can’t trade for a rental winger that will be asking for ~10M (according to insiders). That’s terrible resource and cap management!

I didn't mean it had to be this winger. I just meant if the cost for the centre they need is too high for now they can wait. They will need a stud winger to play with Demidov too.
