The simple answer is that Price is LTIR for another year, Byron as well for the 1st half, and that Dach will sign once the season officially starts.

If Dach signs for less than 1.3 Million, could Montreal sign him now, technically burry him in the AHL, and then call him up and be cap compliant once the season starts?

Calgary has some interesting prospects that perhaps Montreal would want instead of a 1st.

Wolf
Coranato
etc

hummm, heavy price indeed. 2 factors, how does LeHabs move da'coin and even better no one is asking if 7 x 7 is a great deal for Nas. If indeed a first good job Montreal.

Why wouldn't it be? Toronto paid a 1st for Marleau and he was owed less real money.

We've seen 2 x 2-3M dumps cost a 2nd and 3rd.

This price makes sense.
Marleau was 37 years old.

Trading Dvorak for a 2nd or a 3rd would be godawful value for Montreal. No way they do that.
Why not? Connor Brown was traded for a 2nd on a better contract and is a better player. Same with Bjorkstrand

Probably means Price is for sure LTIR which is a bummer but regardless, Habs have like 15 forwards who should be in the lineup, someone's gotta go
