didn't say he wasn't serviceable just saying I've never seen a "top 4" DMan included in so many trade proposals..

Cam Fowler is being included in a lot of proposals too, that doesn't make his value lower does it? No.

seriously? Cam Fowler is included because he is a legit top 4 and Ducks have a lot of D prospects. Emelin is a throw in who often gets sold others by Habs fans as a Top 4.

Don't try to muddy the waters.

Just so everyone knows, Skinner is still a valuable player on our team. We aren't giving him away for a bag of pucks. Ditto Faulk.

You Canes fans must be the most sarcastic group (as a whole) on HFBoards.... I think it's hilarious.

7 years of no playoffs can do that.

Don't try to muddy the waters.

Montreal is also still fairly deep on LD without Emelin so many see him as a moveable piece if trying to move salary. Same situation with Anaheim, if salary wasn't an issue they'd keep Fowler. No muddying the waters at all. Emelin is a legit #4. Being included in many proposals doesn't diminish his value as a player.

Desharnais
Emelin
Hudon
Blackhawks 2nd 2017

Habs get a 2nd LW for multiple years but take a risk with his injury history.

Canes don't make it to cap floor. With Desharnais and Emelin, they get 2 player who can give time to younger player to develop and they don't have long term contract so they can decide what they want to do with them.

Hudon is a nice prospect who's NHL ready imo.

This is embarrassingly bad. Why would Carolina even consider this? Truly bad.

an injury prone 2nd liner for a sturdy top 4 d-man, a 2nd line center, a great 2-way prospect with 50 points potential and a 2nd pick is bad value for the habs :shakehead:

Does this really need a sarcasm smiley?

2 pages and not one Habs fan has yet call Emelin a top 4 DMan? come on Man...
"he might be a bit overpaid but he's still serviceable"

Third page doesn't disappoint:

Montreal is also still fairly deep on LD without Emelin so many see him as a moveable piece if trying to move salary. Same situation with Anaheim, if salary wasn't an issue they'd keep Fowler. Legit #4! Just a bit overpaid!

I am pretty sure Skinner is an important part of carolinas rebuild. Carolina is set to enter the season with what they have unless someone is going to overpay....

In all fairness, Emelin is being OFFERED to a lot of teams by Habs fans. Fowler is being ASKED for in a lot of those trades by the 28 other team's fans.

Hey if the #HFCanes draft continues, here's to another 7 without. :naughty:

Seriously though, Canes fans on this site are one of the best fanbases.

To the original proposal, just no. Skinner has found his form again, and the Canes lacked scoring last season, so to trade one of the best scorers at this time is a nono.

As a Canes fan, the only pieces I'd consider for trade are some of the D prospects to obtain some F prospects that are NHL or near NHL ready. RF done a great job so far, the team must stay the course it's already on.

And you guys are all injury prone too. :naughty:

Thing about the Carolina fans is that we don't usually get our good comments in on the first couple of pages of the thread, but by mid thread we are killing it. Unfortunately, we never seem to win the thread due to our slow starts...

Then we trade out our good posters and start a new thread. Lather, rinse, repeat.
