LOL I'm comparing raw numbers because I figured that is YOUR argument, Landeskog brings more of what doesn't show up on the scoreboard than Pacioretty.
How about this for 'context'? How about you compare the seasons both those teams have had during those time periods and see who comes up on top? Which team had the best PowerPlay??? How many of those points did MaxPac get on that MTL PP vs 5-on-5?? (I'm certainly not going to go through all that to try an convince ONE person who, by all accounts, has got big giant homer goggles on but I'd be pretty surprised if it was Landeskog who came up with the favourable stats in any of those categories, since the Avs had had 1 playoff series since he entered the league - so according to all that, MaxPac has had the more ideal circumstances to actually produce vs Landeskog [most people actually realize this without having the need to explain it])
According to YOU...Pacioretty is the better player but that certainly doesn't make it fact. 95% of ALL fans in this thread agree that Landeskog > MaxPac but feel free to keep going because after all, only YOUR opinion matters apparently.
Before doing that silly "shakehead" emoji, at least try to get your numbers right. 43 different people commented on the thread, 26 say the Avs say no, 8 say the Habs say no, and 9 did not offer an opinion on the actual deal. So, that would be 60% of the people think Landeskog is better than Pacioretty and I am not some lone homer out in the woods as at least 7 other people agree with me. By the way, I never said "only my opinion matters", I used raw data and context to explain why the deal does not work from the Habs' POV.
Avs fans and neutral fans are saying "no thank you" on the Avs behalf.
We prefer to keep our captain who is a huge part of the identity of our team. How is MaxPac for your team in that regard?
Context is important, but so is being honest. I am not the only person in the thread who says the Habs would decline, and your "95%" number is a straight up lie, as well. If you want to look at PPP as a comparable, we can use their respective 4th years since it seems the most fair to compare them with:
Landeskog got 5 of his 23 goals on the pp, and had 10 of his 65 points on the pp. The Avs finished 1st in the Central and had a 55-22-8 record.
Pacioretty got 4 of his 33 goals on the pp, and 13 of his 65 points on the pp. The Habs finished 3rd in the Atlantic with a 46-28-8 record.
So, Max got a whopping 3 more pp points than Landeskog. That is probably not what you were hoping for. If you want, we can simply compare their first 5 seasons in the NHL, since you like using raw data out of context or making numbers up. So, I did the research for you (I know, looking at numbers on NHL.com is a bit hard for you, so I did it to keep you honest since you have trouble with percentages):
Landeskog had 23 pp goals out of 100 total (23%) and 55 ppp of his 246 total points (22%) in his first 5 seasons.
Pacioretty had 16 pp goals out of 68 total (23%) and 39 ppp out of his 153 total points (25%) in his first 5 seasons.
It would seem that neither is particularly getting a huge benefit from the powerplay, something you thought was going to be so much more in Pacioretty's favour. Max has not had the more favourable context, offensively speaking, than Landeskog, using the context you hoped would skew the numbers in your favour. Keep in mind, those percentages are actually accurate, not made up like your "95%" BS...
