Player Discussion MSL finalist for coach of the year!

Without taking anything from MSL’s great achievement, Jack Adams has unfortunately very often awarded to the coaches of the teams that exceed the expectations the most as the difference is attributed to the coach.

Case in point, Cooper has never won the Trophy and Jacques Demers is the only one to win back-to-back and with the same team (in 86 and 87). You cannot convince me that the best coach changes from year to year so much more than the best player that practically no one is the best consistently.
The best coach usually has the best goalie
It happen a lot

The JA winner is also usually fired within 2 years of winning the award

Crazy

Well deserved, this team did not have the roster to make the playoffs and a number of player took significant steps in their development, something fans of this team haven't been used to seeing in decades. He made important adjustments in December, has the team finally playing a modern system and brought a lot of leadership. It's Carbery who will win but MSL deserves the nomination.

While I don't think he was a problem, I like him, not a fan of man to man, but that's another story, isn't there enough proofs that this trophy is insanely overrated? How many are fired 2 or 3 years after winning it? And frankly, this trophy means ''Teams that surpassed OUR expectations...who is OUR? Well we are ''journalists'' who are often wrong on everything...''

Although I agree that trophy don't have a whole lot of meaning and is more a team trophy more than anything.......there's still a world between being nominated for it and being a serious problem.

LOOOOL

Oh boy the Marty haters are gonna have a field day trying to explain THIS one

Good for you Marty
(It was still a terrible idea to pull the goalie with 3 mins left in game 4 tho lol, he'll learn)

He's a all of fame player and it's a team that wasn't supposed to go in. That's why he got it.

Nevermind that the Habs were dominated most games and seemed lost and were counting on the determination of the players to mount comebacks. And Hutson and Suz putting the team on their backs.

This post suggests you may not have much experience with team sports.

Well deserved, youngest team to make the playoffs since...? The team shouldnt have made the playoffs on paper, especially with the loss of Dach. MSL did a tremendous job with this young group, we did what the Sabres were supposed to do like 10 yrs ago lol.

It's very rare for a team in the NHL to be ahead of schedule nowadays when rebuilding.

Ottawa is about 2 years behind schedule
Detroit is the same
Buffalo like you said is about 10 years
Utah is behind
I don't even know with the Kraken
Columbus is pretty much on schedule
Same with Anaheim

But none are ahead like the habs
