I saw that yesterday. Feels very much like typical financial maneuverings, since Dolan can clearly afford to keep them out of bankruptcy himself. MSG Networks was spun off to its own company about 10 years ago. Their streaming launch has been absolutely awful, but there's no real threat of MSGN going under or anything.

One thing that can't help is that they clearly overpay for Islanders and Devils broadcasting rights in order to keep them off of competitors.

There are two other sports networks in the area who would probably be into getting more market share. YES Network (Yankees and Nets) and SNY (Mets).
