Welcome tough crowd.

I ranked the 50 best under-23, under 25 games affiliated prospects for the year of 2024.

As usual, I do not rank goaltenders because it is just too much work to analyze goaltenders, especially because they play a lot, there's a lot of them and they're often hidden in random leagues. I'd be happy to provide a list for anyone who cares but yeah, thats it.

Here's a post I made in 2019 that still describes my views on prospects:
Mostly a complete offense and a willingness to be the man on the offense. I'm also a fan of physicality and aggressiveness in a player. NHL readiness isn't really something I value too highly, but it is certainly a factor in this ranking as the first five should all be in the NHL this year. Another thing I value highly is intelligence. If a player showcases a good level of on-ice IQ, he's most likely a favorite of mine. I tend to overlook defensive problems as these usually are either overblown or they sort themselves out.

What could bring a player down ?
Perimeter play. This is the biggest culprit.
Lack of a shot.
Lack of speed, or a tendency to float.

This is my list, and my list only, it has not been influenced by any other media list around, which is why it might look a bit different than most. I will also add that I am trying to rank players as to who will have the best career when it is all said and done, meaning, in a perfect world, I would've ranked Patrice Bergeron higher than I would've ranked Eric Staal in the summer of 2003. This could explain why some players are seemingly way lower than they should relatively be, as per example for this year, Alex Nikishin.

I know he played a game or 2 many, but where would you have slotted Zellweger? Brandt Clarke also if you dont mind?

Very aggressive on firkus. I have my doubts that he can translate at that size.

Thank you for the list!
Thank you. I am, and have been for some years now. He's always gonna be small and he's always gonna be one of the most skilled players in the world, it's a tough conundrum. I chose to gamble on the talent myself, it has been done before.

Both after Parekh, after then it gets very hard to see where they land... I mostly look at where Nikishin is ranked and Im unsure if I'd rank either ahead again. I would rank Clarke ahead of Zellwegger again.

Strictly speaking from a Nashville POV, there's a few guys I think we'd have over Wood.

He had a good, not great year on a bad team, I'd probably put Molendyk, Kemell and Svechkov over him atm.

Lane Hutson apparently only a notch worse than Will Smith.

But ok, not gonna be a hater. People will have their opinions. Nice to see Matthew Wood on the radar. He'll have a big year.
Honestly as someone who in their draft years had Hutson at 10 and Smith at 6, I get where he's coming from on that

Near Montreal
I still can't believe Montreal passed over Kulich, Firkus and Lambert for Mesar.

Slafkovsky
Kulich or Firkus
Beck
Hutson

Would be one hell of a draft.

Still, Slaf/Beck/Hutson are great picks, Mesar still has potential.

Pretty bad overall. Lots of Homer in this one. Joshua Roy ahead of guys like Parekh and pretty much everyone under him is pretty hilarious and stands out to me. Hutson also way too high. Reinbacher the same. Can't take this seriously

Yes, the usual 'but Habs prospects suck' whining.

The lack of the OHL Regular Season and Playoff MVP in his draft +1.
The lack of Gavin Brindley, Sandin-Pelikka and Simashev is certainly a choice...

But always appreciate the list -
