Most valuable player to his team no one is talking about

Nico Hischier

Without him, the Devils would be behind Montreal and tied with NYR/CBJ despite playing 2 more games.

Some have mentioned Werenski, but if he drags his team to the playoffs I think he should get serious consideration.

That's the issue with someone like Dahlin. Sure, he's important to his team's success, but his team doesn't have much success. It's got to be a player on a playoff team, unless the player has crazy stats.

Suzuki and Werenski are great picks.

But I think Clayton Keller deserves some serious discussion for Utah. Guy is phenomenal, and has matured into a team captain.

I’ve seen people list Pastrnak outside the top 10 forwards in the NHL which is criminal

I don’t know if I’d call it criminal to put him outside the top 10. He’s 8th in scoring over the last 5 years, and Crosby, Matthews, Kaprizov, and Barkov are all right behind him. I have him top 10, but it’s not completely unreasonable to have him in the 10-15 range. Beyond that though, I’d agree

Sure if you want to use a strangely long sample of 5 years

During the last three he’s 5th in both pts and it’s per game while outscoring his next closest teammate by 46, 43, and 33pts respectively.

He has had close to no offensive help like the other forwards
