Normally I'd say Everberg but he's been getting heaps of praise from Avs fans. Right now the "underrated" guy has to be Matt Duchene. This is now the second season he has had beset by injuries and general crappiness surrounding him, and sure enough a lot of Avs fans have turned on him once again. Kinda silly. No, make that ridiculous.

My vote for Columbus is Mark Letestu easily. Guy can do it all but usually centers the 4th line 5on5 so he doesnt get any recognition

Without a doubt. Produces no matter where hes slotted in the lineup. Players on the team say he hasthe highest hockey IQ on the team.

I would say Santa. Panik has been decent in stretches, but Santa is good all the time. I would rather re-sign him than trade him

Sergei Gonchar. He isn't what he used to be but he's very effective and rarely ever makes mistakes.

Schwartz. One of the most underrated in hockey.

Glad to hear about Russell in CGY. I liked him a lot here.

I think you need to read some other teams trade threads. Everyone wants him. The problem is Tarasenko. So maybe you guys should trade him so Jaden gets some love.

I would have to say Sergei Gonchar

He was advertised as being done and being a waste of a roster spot. He's most definitively still a top 4 dman

Chris Tanev gets a lot of recognition from Canucks fans but I'm not sure if the NHL knows quite how good he is. But, if he doesn't qualify, I'll throw out a vote for Dorsett. Just the perfect fourth liner: a guy who plays all-out every shift, tough-as-nails, defends his teammates and chips in on the score sheet.

Niklas Hjalmarsson and Brandon Saad

Hjalmarsson is a great defensive defenseman. Solid in his own zone, blocks a bunch of shots and kills penalties.

Saad is a good all around player. Can play on the PP and the PK. Good playmaker and is improving scoring wise. He's also a good skater.

Came in here to say Hjalmarsson.

Easily one of the best defensive d-men in the league, with an underrated shot and a fantastic shot blocker who can make a great breakout pass. But he gets overshadowed by Keith and Seabrook.

There's a reason Scottie Bowman advised the team to let Niemi walk when the Sharks were throwing out offer sheets like candy. When one of the best hockey minds in history tells you to hang on to a guy you do it. I'm still glad they made that decision.

Couldn't be anyone but Erik Johnson for the Avs. Best player on the team. Top 15 dman now. Stud. We're literally lost without him.

Hard to be underrated on the pens lol. But it's Ehrhoff for us. So solid. But, he isn't bringing that offense he's more known for so he sometimes catches flack. Esp beginning of the year

I don't think non-MTL fans know how good Andrei Markov is. He's flat out dominant in all three zones and his vision is second to none. He may be getting old but his game has not deteriorated. The true definitions of a general. Very very smart hockey player.
