Most Memoriable Game of the Last 5 years?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like there was so much more hype (rightfully so) two years ago compared to last year ESPECIALLY with how MSG was set up with all the confetti and the jets of liquid nitrogen or whatever they use. I don't remember seeing that this year.

Ironically, I thought we were going to be a little above average 2 years ago (and nearly everyone overperformed, beaver the notable exception). This year I thought we were going to be the juggernauts of the east, and everyone underperformed (Richards not exempt). I think many echoed the same sentiments.

Regular season: I'm going to go off the board a little & say last year vs. the Red Wings.

Richards coast-to-coast to tie it, followed by the OT winner by Callahan. Beating Detroit holds extra weight to me no matter how good they are.

Took my brother to that game. It was the first hockey game he had ever been to. :yo:

Not many memorable games in the last 5 years, IMO. Maybe those Game 7's and the Winter Classic in Philly. Other than that, not many that would have been somehow memorable to me. The Sabres series was a great one and those games were very intense. Before that, I could think of a few games from the FLY-line where they absolutely dominated. E.g. chasing Patrick Roy in the 2nd period in 200, Lindros' first game against Philly (we won 4-2) etc.

I'll go back a few more years.

The Rangers/Islanders game in 07 where Hollweg got hit by Simon was an incredible game. Playoff atmosphere. I was at the game and everyone was drained after.

The 07 playoffs games 3 and 4 vs. Atlanta. Wow.

I'd have to agree with everyone else. Many memorable games during 10-11 and 11-12. Those teams were pretty similar and showed up every night. Even though they lost Opening Night vs. Toronto they came back and that was minus Drury and Gaborik. It showed that team had heart.

The game before that with Stepan's hat trick was great.

Callahan's four goal game against the Flyers where the Rangers were wearing white at MSG. The Boston comeback.

Next season the Vancouver game, Phoenix game, Winter Classic, the game in Philly where they clinched the Atlantic Division. And games 6 and 7 vs. OTT and games 5 and 7 vs. Washington.

watching these highlights from 2 years ago still makes me resent the fact that we couldn't muster up a 2 game lead at any point in the 20 games we played. Sigh...

For me, there's several games who are memorable from the last 5 years.

5. Game @ Pittsburgh in December 2010. We won 4-1 and it was memorable for me because it was the first game I watched since coming back home from living in South Africa. I remember Anisimov spinning and turning away from 3 defenders at center ice and going 1-on-1 with Fleury

4. @ Flyers in April 2012. Anisimov drawing 2 penalties but still scoring the goal (watch it by clicking the link below). Amazing moment because it is very rare to see something like this happening

3. @ Phoenix in 2011-2012. The goal by Richards with 0.1 seconds remaining. No need to explain.

2. triple OT winner by Gaborik last season against Washington

1. The tying goal by Richards with 6.6 seconds to go against Washington, same series, which we won in OT by a PP goal from Staal. We scored 2 PP goals that night. Also quite the accomplishment

Personally, these are my most memorable games:

1. Game 3 vs Buffalo in 2007. Double OT, Hank was on fire, and Rozy's big game winner.

I know it wasn't within the last 5 years, but **** it.

2. That game against the Penguins in 2010-11 with Staalsy's shorty and Cally's OT winner. I've NEVER been that happy after a regular season game.

3. The comeback vs the Bruins in 2011.

4. Winter Classic

5. Game 3 vs Washington in 2012

6. Games 6 and 7 vs Washington this season. What a performance by Hank.

HM: Game 5 vs WSH 2012, Game 3 vs ATL 2007, Malik shootout game, that game against the Isles last season with Girardi's OT winner

I'm surprised nobody mentioned this before, but the game against the Sharks after which Thornton called the Rangers "soft." Prior to that game the Rangers were struggling to win games and it looked to be another frustrating season. I think that was the turning point of the 11-12 season.

One game that has yet to be mentioned that deserves some love is the season opener in Buffalo w/ the stepan hattrick.

Also, the 6-1 game against PIT this season. That was the start of something special and it was one of the busiest days of GTDs I've ever seen.

One of the most... wtf is happening lololol games.

Funny enough I remember saying how "Torts is going to ruin the offensive spirit of Brass, Clowe, and Moore."

Stepan hatty is mentioned (Post 35)

That 6-1 game vs. Pit was surreal, it's almost like it never happened. lol

Yeah, I remember my wife making a joke about Thornton being soft after the game. lol

I was at that game. It was 10/31/11. Rangers-Sharks games are always great and that was no exception. Prust fighting Clowe and cally scoring that goal on his back. Plus Anisimov had a sick goal that game too.

Definitely, came here to post this re. 6-1 win against Pens.
Now I think most of these game already been mentioned. To me I put come back from 3 goals down agains Boston in the "personally attended" category and then would ad game seven against Ottawa to this category. The way MSG was rocking that day was something special back from Gretzky / Messier days.

BTW, if needed another game from this season then dominating Washington in game 7 clincher should be it.

For the right reasons, games 3 and 5 vs. Washington 2013, both game 7's, this years game 7 as well. Non-playoff games include the comeback against BOS in 2011 and the Pitt game where the refs were wearing Pens jerseys.

For the wrong reasons, games 5&6 against the Devils, and, of course, the Shootout loss to Philly in 2010. Up to this day, whenever I hear Olli Jokinen's name, I think, "**** you Olli Jokinen" in my head lol.

Edit: forgot the 6-1 game against the Pens this year. Pretty memorable because all the new guys scored and we beat the Pens!
