Kovalev really tops the list. Such talent, but he never seemed to care. He had a mental switch and the coaching staff had to figure out a way to turn it on each night. Most nights, he would just float around out there. He was light outs when he had a pinch of motivation and could easily turn a game around to his favour when he had the will.

Drouin is a close second. Less talented than Kovalev but simply no heart.

I still remember fan favourite, Begin, but he would costs the Habs games, including a playoff spot with his stupid penalties.

Grabovski and the Kostistyn brothers: no need to explain.

René Bourque is an honourable mention.

Brian Savage always was hot in October, but didn't care towards the end.

Pouliot was another Drouin for me.

We didn't see much of Poulin, but he surely was another player with no heart.

Drouin: The Thread.

The guy has all the talent in the world but is dumb as rocks and doesn't have a shred of drive and/or ambition in his entire body. He doesn't even look like he wants to be a hockey player. He honestly just needs to pack it in and retire because it's embarrassing watching him out there. If he's in the league by the time he's 35 I'll be downright shocked. I bet he retires soon. As he should.

What a disappointment of a player. What a shame.

Subban and Kovalev...
Yes you can do 12 spinorama toe drags, just to turn over the puck.

Price has been frustrating throughout his career. I mean overall he’s been great, but there were always games where you could tell from the first save or two if he was really into the game. If not, he’d have a mediocre night by his standards.

...That's a serious "Tell me you don't understand hockey without telling me you understand hockey" moment right there.
…. It’s not at all. They were both small French players that were gifted their positions and given more opportunities than others because of that… I don’t care about their draft position/pedigree that wasn’t the issue. Before Drouin even played a game he was given the number one Center spot. Desharnais never was taken off the top line. Ridiculously frustrating.

Gaston Gingras. I can't believe no one picked him. The biggest boneheaded dimwit to ever lace them up for the Habs. Always made the wrong play. He drove me nuts. Had a very hard shot but could never put it within 3 feet of the net.

Bobby Smith. A really good player but more and more as time went by he would never shoot. He could be alone 5 feet in front of the net with the goalie in the corner and he would pass it off.

AK46 for never being close to what I hoped, wanted and thought he would be.

Kostitsyn had 26 goals in his first full season in the league, so things were looking very good.

What gets forgotten is that akost suffered a nasty concussion at the start of the following season. I remember his brother was really upset watching that and koivu had to calm him down on the bench.

Careers are super fragile, and I wonder how much that headshot impacted his trajectory, because that first season ended up being his career season.

But I get what you are saying..... He was a very powerful player with a good shot... But he would often check out for extended periods, and again, I wonder if that headshot changed his mindset towards the game.

I never liked Saku Koivu. I always felt he was severely overrated by Habs fans.

Overrated or underrated, I think it's hard label someone to be frustrating when they play the game the way that saku did.

Perry Turnbull. But in more recent history, Drouin for sure. For the way he is playing, and the cost to acquire him. And almost all the goons they acquired starting with Parros and Laraque. And big Derek King.

Really surprised I’m the only one having Brisebois.
Honestly Brisebois mostly played fine for who and what he was, as a hockey player.

People were angry because he was "overpaid" and didn't deliver the play a #1 dman should deliver, but the fact of the matter is he wasn't a #1, and the organisation f***ed him over. If he had been played and paid as a #3 dman, most people wouldn't have had an issue with him.
